Mother,daughter,walking,talking,
Walking,walking,walking,gawking.
Into the canyons,into the doorways,
Doorways,gawking,talking,walking.
Dollar drunk,blind lady pleading,
Pleading,pleading,pleading,needing.
Blind eyes bleeding,closed eyes pray,
Praying,bleeding,needing,pleading.
People,persons,unkind,heartless,
Heartless, heartless, heartless,helpless.
Rich man ,wealth less,Oh Lord save him,
Save them,wealth less,helpless,heartless.
Sinners,savers,all one,all sons,
All one,all one,all one,person.
Random ,acts ,kindness heals us,
Heals us,person, all sons, all one.
Organic mystery, bated breath
Known causes, uncertain breath.
Systemic matter, wild shields
Cells in order, fated breath.
Corporeal wave, bloody fashion
Tumultuous fissures, captured breath.
Peasant ailing, fortune calls
Civil measures, alien breath.
Shadows cast, a just reward
Mortal wishes, eternal breath.
Toasted glass, healer's gain
Conjured image, phantom breath.
I can see small pieces of metal on a knee
and I walk into a shadow
and puts me down
because my pants
black and worn
not shall gleam as polished metal
over the knees
Shadows sneak and confuse confidence behind me.
Mistakes made in mirrored reflection remind me.
Time does pay a toll to my sad, unhappy soul,
with borrowed currency—from someone, confines me.
In the search for immortality, I am lost,
but for certain I do know that death will find me.
I can’t stand on rocks cast by those who have not sinned.
Impiety preaching piety reminds me.
Seek and find questions to answers, some things need change.
The choice to always settle will never bind me.
Maybe Michael, hope isn’t just mere happenstance,
but part of predestined plan that entwines me.
Submitted for Jared's "The Ghazal" contest.
Gifting dreams of hope to my eyes, he vanished in a flash
Carting away the treasure of sorrows, leaving mirage a trash
Thorns of grief were, in all, the earning on whose part
Left a delightful rose in the derelict mansion of my heart
He wasn’t the Socrates, yet he drank the poison of apathy
And with wine of love, he filled my heart’s vessel so empty
The bride of night ascended the horizon unfurling her hairs
Hands of that Azar have given my thought’s idol such glares
Love, sympathy and loyalty are qualities profound
Anguish is what they reward you with, soothing although they sound
Walked he himself, to the hangman, carrying his cross of soul
To show me how my courage faltered in playing its role
Wisdom was rendered, Yamin, by vainglory inept
The book of vision he flung into the worthy hands of zest.
