Legwork Poems

Beginnings Excite but Are Difficult,
Getting Out of Bed to the Alarm,
Deciding What Needs Doing is Occult,
Showing Up at the Office Can Harm,
The Urge to Exclaim "Halt!",
School Often Makes One a Worm,
Lines Blank on Paper May Scald,
1st Words are Awkward & Squirm,
Like Feet Preceding a Swim, Cold!
But Take the Plunge, Abandon, Be Firm,
"Dive In!, Carpe Diem!" Your Story be Told,
Yet Giving Birth May Affirm,
If Done Right Never Gets Old,
A "Nes", The Newborn Solution Confirm,
Imagine! Curious & Daring as Disney Walt,
Cleaning Up After the Party, Post Partum,
Even Eating Begins in the Kitchen Called,
"Legwork" as it's Needed to Enjoy the Hum,
It's Easy to Overlook Our DNA Spiraled,
Roots, Such as My Loved Little Woman,
If I Can't Anew Fresh Starts in Life Bundled,
The Men in White Coats Will Hunt Me Down!

Working Ants Chant

Working ants chant!
(abridged)
I am a sunrise solution
I am a sunrise solution

I chase clients
Like a go-getter Following comfort crumbs
With promised dalliance anthem
With legwork related resolution
That set everything in motion
I am sunrise solution
I am sunrise solution

My Redneck Truck

My Redneck Truck

I love to ride around in my redneck truck
Even though I do not hunt rabbit, duck, or buck,
It makes me feel great when life goes a-muck.
And when I am enamored or by nature, moonstruck.

An ordinary truck somewhat knocked around.
No longer has a bumper, headlight lost, not found.
It never has complaints, no, not one sound.
That is why we take it when we go to town.

The AC might be broken but the windows work.
Sometimes my hair blows wildly, just one quirk.
I laugh so loud some people think I’ve gone berserk.
Always overjoyed because it beats legwork.

Surrounded

Songs and minutes, smoke and maroons
Swirl and shake in a majestic monsoon

Words and winds radiate from this relic
But it's heartily broken, hardening into a brick

She's surrounded by specks of sparkling sand
But notices nothing in this loathsome land

She feels frustrated-- thrown for a lonesome loop
In the desert and deserted, all she does is stoop

It's not a secret that she's surrounded
But how she remains alone leaves her astounded

She looks, and listens, and does legwork
But somehow all she sees is dust and dirt

There's not a place of paradise-- one oasis
Except for her lone entity that can grace all graces

Her feelings have descended, discouraged by not a find
How can a sapphire so beautiful be so blind?
