"Affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion." Jim Rohn

The question: Am I open-minded, closed-minded, or delusional?
Sometimes, we mortals desire to believe in the unbelievable.
Therefore, we must choose our teachers and mentors wisely.

Wisdom says to wait and investigate before it is too late.
He who approves before 'taking one to school' is unwise.
To affirm without heavy questioning is foolishness.

Regardless of whether our field of endeavor is religion,
politics, or business, we must avoid dictators and deceivers.
A person or world in depression has little room for discretion.

If I am delusional, I have been deceived.
If deceived, I have accepted a false belief.
I have been overpowered or misled by persuasion.

I have trusted something or someone who's not trustworthy.
I am then ripe for the pickings by anyone desirous of my fruit.
For so during, I have become a victim like an ant in a spider's web.

I lack the necessary discipline to examine and scrutinize what has been
placed before me. The cleverness of the deceiver is such that I have
willingly legitimized and given accent and access to the forbidden.

Premium MemberPoetry Midwife

When visions, elation, dreams and emotions
Expand to nearly the point of explosions
A skilled hand is needed to bring forth a life
That is the job of the Poetry Midwife.

I've no degree but this work is my passion
Bringing forth poems, turning thought into action
With each birth I feel a bit more energized
As this Poetry Midwife is legitimized.

This job isn't easy, hours sporadic
Some days are easy, and others dramatic
I get many calls in the heart of the night
Urgent for attention, there's no taking flight.

So with sterile blank screen and keyboard prepared
I plunge my hands in where the soul is left bared
And when I pull forth the creation I see
Sure a Poetry Midwife's what I'm meant to be.

Incidental Story

Step softly over this silken knot;
Ease into this particular caress..
I have a story
Written slowly on cloth of gold..
The wrappings shimmer sightlessly
Around the nearest ornamental Diary.

And then, we wonder as we read
Who earns such gifts as nonchalonce..?
For effort lost we all expire
Into an alien heat
To find someone especially sacred.

Ending in historic settlement
Legitimized or notarized
As each becomes unrecognizable
With no one especially primal
In an overlong embrace...

But sacrificial relatives
Abound in every Storybook;
And your turn,
My cold young lover
Is waiting to be taken...

Write carefully.

Safety

Safely alone,
No way to be compromized.
Protected by experience,
The definition of individualized.
Bound by memories,
Forced to be penalized.
Single from lessons learned,
Properly demoralized.
Never to be reeducated,
Undoubtedly legitimized.
Totally alone,
No way to be compromized.
