I know a river where the fish fly in the sky.
Sheltered by boundless ember morning sky,
a lull stillness, it refuses to say goodbye;
I breathe deep in submission quiver and sigh.
Drifting upriver in my small fry fishing boat
wishing for a plate of fried fish, so, I wore my lucky coat.
It's out there waiting for a moving worm afloat.
A dragonfly hover by, big bass launch into the air.
Dangling my pole over the boat there, I stare.
Speckle trout; come with me, my cupboard is bare.
I spent all day as the fish just laughed,
bait writhe at the end of the hook as they passed.
Splash! A nibble, then a take. Holy Moly, largemouth bass.

When I let one loose in the elevator,
I’d been goosed by gas,
released the stench of embarrassment.
Out flew a largemouth bass —
now for the harassment.
When I let one loose in the elevator,
nearby, I heard Joan’s guffaw cry,
“O sakes alive!” She had a blast.
A so-called friend, she turned me in, refused to lie,
so I rear-ended her, let another one past.

Off he goes again into his own little world
To catch a Largemouth Bass.
Fishing rod and reel in hand
He takes another pass.
With his Bass Tracker boat
Trolling motor set on five.
The thrill of the catch
Keeps him feeling alive.
The sound of the water slapping the boat
And the sound of the reel as it turns.
The view of the lake in the still morning air
Makes him want to never return.
He tries to make his family believe
That it’s all about the fishing.
But he enjoys the peaceful break
From the stressfulness of living.
He vows that he will fish all day
Until the day is done.
He may come home with tons of bass
Or maybe only one.
For it’s not about the fish you see
Or the meal he might provide.
It’s all about the time he spends
With nature alone outside.
And when his time on earth is through
And his fishing days are done.
He’ll take his rod and reel with him
To his place in fishing heaven.

driving past a wish
parking in the neighborhood of go
enjoying the view of there
smiling fully at the fact that here i am
nothing beats the feeling
it send my heart reeling
my head can now be cleared
only to be refueled by cloud angels of enticement
here i leave the blinds and curtains open all day
here i leave the bedroom windows open all night
here i welcome the sunshine and praise God for the beautifully swaying rhythms
i just may stay forever....then again....the largemouth bass of reality is always there to remind me....UNFORTUNATELY!!!!!
