Penguins are beautiful creatures
one of the most elegant is the king
second only to Emperor in size
stands up to 100cm an amazing thing
The king's diet comes mainly from the sea
having appetite for lanternfish, squid and krill
so their average weight is so similar
to larger flying birds when standing still
Our king friends have distinguished mark
with bright orange in its upper chest
frequently seen on South Georgia islands
as well as Falklands and Macquarrie as guest
They are great divers when they may be
go down as deep as even a thousand feet
these can be V-shaped and even W-shaped
to spend 5 minutes submerged can't be beat
So in summing up this fine creature
they are indeed a sight to behold
being majestic truly real grandeur
you know what they even love the cold!
(I have written a poem about King Penguins, one of my favourite creatures.)
