Indoctrinated

I was doctored
Before I was sick
Getting ahead of disease
Is the trick
...to being

I was wrong
Before I was right
Placed in between
Evil and light
...to struggle

I was cursed
Before I was blessed
Redemption needed
To enter rest
...as a baby

I was rescued
Before I was bound
Pleasures denied
Just as they were found
...in hope

Punishment a promise
Before reward was offered
All I could ever desire
Sacrificed on an altar
...of an AWFUL god

TRUTH appeared............

                 Now, WHAT?????

Note: Growing up in any society, we are taught WHAT to believe rather than how to think and how to process information. I think about Jim Jones, David Koresh and others who were obviously, mentally ill, but so were their followers, so easily indoctrinated. Why is it so easy for us to swallow, hook, line and sinker, belief systems based in punishment and reward rather than the TRUTH...God means to enjoy us? May we all come to know Daddy God as LOVE, because that is His name.

Watch Your Thoughts

In high school, Steward had started thinking
of his gloomy future and Abraham Lincoln.
who said, "Predict your future; create it."
His heart cried, "Wyoming and me - not related."

Abe lived in three states before he became
prez. There's a whole world out there to claim,
who needs a family and farm near Cheyenne?
Stew loved the idea of being his own man.

Pulled up roots, headed to the heart of Texas
and Waco, a hundred bucks as his nexus...
Money he'd stolen from dad, like back pay;
he had a faint hope to pay him back some day.

Steward spent one night talking to David Koresh;
he claimed to believe but this new light was fresh.
Rubbing the mist from his eyes (lonesome for home),
first look at the compound, it whispered, "Shalom!"

He had a new calling - leader in "God's Army"
and wrote grandma, "Weapons make me feel barmy."
She penned back, "Just pray." (He knew what she'd say.)
God "drove" him t'wards Wyoming the very next day.

Clipped Wings

Of angelic visitation
Kingdom turned to nation
Focus on flesh
(Like David Koresh)
Focus on wings
(Whilst scorpion stings)

From humility to pride
In reverse they all ride
A focus on the now and here
With condemnation and with fear

Rather Kingdom we should seek
Being humble, being meek
Than angels flying ‘round
Keeping us on shaky ground

Rather seek the righteousness
That came to love
That came to bless
Nothing more required, really
For his Love loves us dearly

He Looks Like Jesus

he looks like “jesus”

long haired white guys,
from
Koresh to
Vissarion,
to
AJ Miller---
these cult leaders all
“look like “jesus,”
according to many.

in fact,
all one has to do is
look like the pictures of
this fictional character,
in order to start his own
cult.

the desperate & empty will flock
to the fluffy haired scruffy faced,
and these are the idiots
driving around in cars
on the same highway as you &
i---
these are the idiots who teach
at your children’s schools,
until that one day
when they leave their
own lives completely,
to go & live in Siberia or Queensland
with their
messiahs.

imagine if the charlatans who first
painted images of the infamous fictional
character,
created a fat, 80 year old, bald guy,
with horrible acne &
rotted teeth…
would the idiots still flock?
would the idiots still give up their lives to
worship at the next
compound?
