The humidity is a sodden blanket
over our heaving bodies.
We are climbing through the jungle
to view a temple on top of a mountain.
The exertion is draining us,
I have to nail words together
to form constructed sentences.
Amorphous clouds of vagaries
form miasma's in my head.
I don't even care about the temple
despite my Buddhist leanings
but these evangelical missionaries
are as keen as mustard - go figure.
I thirst for a cold beer, a cold anything.
We are sweating through our clothes
choking in the heat-haze,
but the keen young nurses and doctors
are all for struggling on.
I'm just a follower; a lone Brit
in a happy mob of Americans
thank God they don't all burst into hymnal songs
or call for an ad hoc prayer or two.
At the top
I am wheezing, sweat blinding my eyes
i'm hating these good folks
with a satanic fervor,
though too weak now to curse.
The temple is very old
and it's okay in an ancient way.
I want to sit here and meditate a while
but this forking girl and boy scout tribe I am with
want to explore.
In my mind
I see a laughing Buddha
a Pu Tai figure
rocking back and forth on his fat ass.

“No man for any considerable period can wear one face to himself, and another to the multitude, without finally getting bewildered as to which may be the true.” – Nathaniel Hawthorne, The Scarlet Letter, 1850.
Pockets Of Moon and Men
Daylight is wiped away by a washcloth
transformed into a grayish dusk disguise
as an orb light removes a murky swath
its mask gone thus does the illusion dies
The facade exhibits cracked lines and holes
that crisscross its scenery seen in parts
an imperfect surface sway naught the souls
as amour captivate, affects sweethearts
It adjusts pained lives who have broken up
with all its flawed features mesmerize lives
minding trifling defects both share the cup
as keen as mustard errs also faults thrives
Opted pairs make-up after both were torn
Pocket-full-of-miracles pleased Hawthorne

K-eep keen as mustard,
R-emain faithfully ardent;
E-nthusiastic endeavor
S-aves you from being indifferent.
E-agerly stay keen as mustard, let not your walk go amiss;
L-earn to be anxious, for you to gain heavenly bliss.
D-esire to be keen as mustard
I-ntensifies your vigor;
O-n the twenty-fourth of July,
N-ever decrease your fervor:
E-arnestly obey the Lord,
D-espite the travel so hard;
A-llow your heart to glow, and keep keen as mustard.
i've had to allow the truth somehow to sink into my brain whilst in a world seemingly insane through attitudes so vain that they can all seem the same but upon reflection when put into respective sections may allow for an election that could save the world in terms of the bigger scheme that is not mean and would keep everyone keen as mustard instead of relying on the custard that made them disgusted and put them in trouble which burst any possible bubble that could shave away the rubble stubble that built up over a long period of time when everything seemed fine but when i pushed rewind produced that chance to remind everyone that when we read the signs would give way for the release of truth previously in a bind actually perfectly timed for rapid change so divine you'll begin to feel when read line by line…now i must note that i am currently broke but when this paper is spoke would allow truth not to be revoked but rather see the colour of each boat that would keep us all afloat…although we reach the end of this paper just never forget i'll see you later when we see truth colour and vapour…
