Moments

Picture frame the moments.
In diaries write them down.
Hold on to such with all you have
for times will come around,
when they will be all that you have
to make it one more day.
And on that day let all else go…
then you will find the way.

Poetry Journals
Poetry's a way of writing a journal
Of things joyful, sad or controversial
Poets write of friendship and memoirs shared
Or despair at end of a love affair.

They write of the seasons that come and pass
Of moonlight beams and stellar stars amass
Stories of Christmas and all that it means
Of witches, ghosts and ghouls at Halloween.

Poets tell

Sonnets Xvii-Xxiv

Sonnets XVII-XXIV

Discrimination
by Michael R. Burch

The meter I had sought to find, perplexed,
was ripped from books of "verse" that read like prose.
I found it in sheet music, in long rows
of hologramic CDs, in sad wrecks
of long-forgotten volumes undisturbed
half-centuries by archivists, unscanned.
I read their fading numbers, frowned, perturbed?
why should such tattered artistry be banned?

I heard the sleigh

Dear Diary

Dear Diary, woke up this morning
and opened my eyes
Dear Diary, practiced yoga
and got lost this in the thythm
Dear Diary, where do I go
and how do I find my way back?
Dear Diary, is it all a thought
and could it be what get life on track?
Dear Diary, these days you're a journal
and I wanna know why'd

Predatory; fiction and fantasy became in essence the reality for most?!

In regards unto the realms of life beyound which in turn birthed

The fowlers net to ensnare amid these illusions and delusions....

Mass hypnosis, within subconscious' collective minds; webs of plights

Self-destruction paving this path atop the page in existence!?

Oblivious; as the black widows about their business spinning

Wearisomes travelers; who is blind and I Am not blind?!

Passing through gildeds secular anathemas open markets

With countless sonorous voices calling from their ravens, hoodoo booths

Wishing to sell everyone these worldly visions amid obscures

Perverted material trinkets; placing them in front of narrows sight!?

Glittering these things; as unto a baby within its beloved crib....

Poisons to

Obsequies final taste; within this secession from a lamentatives covenant....

I took this pomegranate tree and I crushed it to, make myself a natives chalice of wine

Still, it remained bitter upon my tongue so, I spit it into the turning paean sea!?

Sometimes I return unto the old neighborhood

To take a stroll down recollections lane....

Silver mesh thousand foot tall cyclone fences

Capped in razors edge; finding the windows

That they longingly peered through as within

These shackles they bled; amid the blindness

Of their eyes in this beatitudes story

Told, once upon a threshfuls time; polarized

By the Northern Star; where Angels sing....

Intriguing this swaying candles flame, trying to convince myself tis but, an aladdins lamp?!

Whispering these words with an amulets charms, dangling about its waist; a world of visions

Kept in this alabasters oblong box; scented aneath rosemary sage and mystic lay with

Walking through this dry parched land feeling as though I were cursed; or blessed?!

Tasting its malignant barren soils and enduring its parallels void empty winds

As a foreigner arriving at a distant city wherein, everything is bartered in an illusions

Being sold at the markets amid this montage and myriad of refractive delusions....

Celestial wisdom; the mother of a precious starving infant, knows no shame!?

Transcending; as the father of an innocent war torn child, knows only pain....

Watching this world from afar these eyes, while it turns atop the bed of sorrows

Burning and yearning yet never learning; as tears keep falling, from broken hearts ~

You frankensteins; you hypocrites; you

Bowing these eyes sometimes in frameful silence

As tears fill the pools of their sight ~

Often beholding this sorrow amid the darkness

Never escaping the truth of its painful plight

Strewn from sea to sea around the globe

No place and no life, is immune unto its plague

Although some believe that they are and perhaps they are....

Tis it better
