Inchworm Poems - Poems about Inchworm

Premium MemberPhilip the Inchworm

Philip is an inchworm, he has neither legs nor feet,
He also has no arms or hands like others on his street.
Phil isn’t good at football, and he can’t run round and round.
His hand eye coordination’s missing something quite profound.
He’d like to play a tennis match but can’t for some strange reason,
Golf is just beyond his

almost my birthday,
inchworm

meanwhile two die

one looks at
her progress
twenty years
behind my back

no sense
to tremble my lip
suck it in
like the golden ladies do

let gray
sprinkle my hair
keep plucking
chin hairs

weaker and wiser
sagging and sagacious
don’t mess with me
kindness

inchworm,
it’s almost my birthday

Inchworm

I challenged an inchworm to a race,
It turned out to be a big disgrace,
Because I agreed to run at the worm' s pace,
And I finished in last place.

Inchworm

Inchworm

Inchworm as you measure
In increments by inch,
Interfacing hemlines,
Implies...new clothes...a cinch!
Impulse begs excitement,
Imagining this gift
Imparting...inch by inch!

The Human Inchworm

One inch forward two back
Creeping toward a ludicrous goal
Relinquishing disappointment
Seeking internal satisfaction

Psychotic persistence,
Emotional self-government,
Invulnerable will,
Summate its inevitable success
Bent on destruction
Of opposition
Nothing remains in its way
Corrupt hunger for perfection
Double-edged sword it hunts
All lost, nothing gained
Predetermined history
On course for an early end
Egotistical
Self-serving
None could’ve foreseen
Seclusion from society
Inured to anguish
Epitome of sorrow
Unfurnished with tear

Inchworm

Inching, inching, slowly inching;
Inchworm loopingly inching along.
Measuring, measuring, carefully measuring;
Careful to measure no measurement wrong.

Reaching, reaching, slowly
