In Memory of a Dear Husband

IN MEMORIUM OF A DEAR HUSBAND

Has it really been a year,
that each day I have cried a tear?
I miss you more and more each day,
the sadness will not go away.

You were my rock,my strength,my guide,
you were always with me by my side,
the ups and downs we shared together,
no matter what we had to weather.

No deeper love we could have shared,
but God knew that you could not be spared.
He needed you in heaven above
to spread your special brand of love.

You are still my rock, my strength my guide,
and I know you are always with me by my side.
Our love and lives still intertwine,
one day we will be reunited for all time.

Love you forever

When the Torch Came In June

When The Torch Came In June--In Memory of my husband:
            Robert A. (Bobby) Burch--Died 6/22/1996

O' June...June...I can't believe how fast time
Has gone. It seems like only yesterday
I held him close...kissed...his lips on mine.
It's been sixteen years since he went away...
That HOT, JUNE, DAY--the Olympic Torch came
Through town. Everone there--needing him too...
He sat down beside me--his face--I knew
When he said, "I don't feel well"--that glazed stare.
Everyone always asked him what to do!
Twice...he came back to assist his own care...

EMS, Doctors, nurses--all were there!
But, still, it was not enough to save him.
Two minutes from the ER--WASN'T FAIR!
'Prayed in the ER as they worked on him...
The people: loved ones, community, friends,
Were everywhere--pacing...standing...crying...
But I kept praying--"Don't let him be dying!"
Finally, they 'called it'...then let me go in...
I kissed him-- goodbye-- but felt they were lying--
Then told our son...he'd not see, DAD--again.

O' June...June...your mem'ry serves quite well...
Wish it'd been me...and he, this story tell.

Still YOU can hear the Sobbing, Throbbing, Heartbeat of A Broken Heart
YOU can feel Her Sorrow, Swallow Sadness, flowing : the contour of Her Face
The Tears in Her Eyes, Sighs of Suffering Alone Now; Yet NEVER APART
She Walks the Rainbow, Below the Gates of Heaven, HER FOREVER enters Grace

Inspired by “ Anne Rutherford “
Dedicated in Memory of HER FOREVER and ALWAYS ; “ HUSBAND “

White Lace Memories

The lady waited in this place
With heart of pure intention
Remembering another face
Too long ago to mention

Lingering on this point in time
She danced with him once more
For all the memories sublime
That's what she came here for

They'd held each other oh so close
Until the night grew pale
He'd given her a single rose
She'd lifted up her veil

In memory she makes sure of
Not slipping down too far
What's the point ,for pure love
Has put you where you are

And so she thinks about that girl
Who beamed like a sunray
When her darling took her for a whirl
Back on her wedding day

As last rose of summer opens wider
Night is drawing nigh, rose cutter in hand
The rose clipped in its best stage; placed in cider
Jar that was used up, cleaned_now it will stand

Jar of cider was enjoyed long ago
Remember that day on our honeymoon
You were so young with raven hair my beau
We found that road side stand that afternoon

Bought that jug of cider that was so cold
Refreshing after long ride around mountain
So eager for life that we would build_hold
Hold each other_life; wanting to obtain

I clip that rose_place in memory bottle
One memory revs my motor throttle
