Hotshots Poems | Examples

I Heard Not a Word

I heard bankshots last night,
sounded like vault robbery for sure
These startled eyes, which got rudely awakened,
saw some masked bandits
mute walking on a one beam teller ...
not cash registering one word

No safety deposit reassurances were heard,
only silent alarm
breached security measure blurbs

On the latest Bankers Holiday,
I heard some peppery sprayed hotshots
being airwave-pumped
in a high pitch, screaming tire getaway
Preying mantis scarlet quotation tread marks
on the glowing screen said:
"We only take more than you can pay ...
blood money always got a dead air say"

Children of famous crooked faces
were crouched decibel low on a zip lip line,
tightrope beam teller
Proselyte pantomime pupils
moving their mouths a lot, cat burglar quick
Using lip sync tools,
saying not a single word ...
Only giving a wily nod coyote wink

I heard not a word
uttered
No, not one truthful word
spoken
during this brazen, public heist

As every lullaby lamb
warm fleece slept
with their pockets open last night

Power With Influence

Power With Influence

Give a man much power and influence,
And with their character see congruence;
Crusty complex inferior;
Wishing was superior;
Things will become terse as well as tense.

Think Abraham Lincoln said something
similar to this. Today is anniversary of
the Darnell, Arizona Granite Mountain
Hotshots.

The Slovenly Slovene

In an attempt to establish an uncertain linkage between 2 parables,
Ivo Torena resorted to impress his colleagues all night long; hence,
awkward as a cow on a crutch, he was cowed into pilfering bananas,
and when he was caught red-handed by the deputy, his eyes showed
no response even though his arteries were friendly. Thus, a series of
tribulations took place inside his troubled mind for outlandish
reasons, and his whereabouts were commended by one of the top
enemies of the state: The twerp from Antwerp. On a serious note,
a cabal of notorious hotshots devised an agenda to unnerve Ivo
until the cow comes home. Still and all, Torena has a truly unique
composure, unlike the belligerent Belgian, and his mannerisms
can't be reciprocated with ease. Furthermore, the notoriety with
which he prattled and sprattled was momentous! His uneventful
birth can't hold a candle to any cinematographic invention although
his water bottle company is a candle in the wind and the pieces
begin to assemble duly without second thoughts whatsoever.

Jealous

You’re jealous, and you have no right to be.
As faithful as I am, infidelity is all you see.
Penny for your thoughts?
Forget it; I already know.
In your mind I’m out with a bunch of hotshots,
Thinking I don’t think of you as I stare out the window.
What have I done to make you doubt?
To be honest I’m getting quite worn-out.
You say you simply can’t.
You say sorry, that you tried.
Your trust you cannot grant,
So in your suspicion I cannot abide.
