Herold Poems

Christ Is Born

Merry Christmas, it's Christ's mass!
Unto us a savior is born early as dawn,
A voice came upon the shepherds; the savior was born.
Atlas the prophecy came to pass!

In search, the three stars came from the east,
For his work, John prepared his path; the master's master.
For his coming,  a virgin became a mother,
To answer his prayer, Zakaria died after but in fest.

The will of mercy was lost;
He came to die and resurrect to restore that which we lost.
This day was prophesied and all the nation waited;
That time came to pass, 'Emmanuel'!
Every nation keep this day in Jolly,
But few keep it holy.

Christ's birth is mysterious,
Even Herold tried to slay him down since this day,
But he lived to make us live again.
Merry, it's Christ's day!

The Inner Whisperer

The Inner Whisperer
By Herold Osmond !Owoseb

My words fail to express my joy
But the hope inside I now employ,
In your eyes I see endless wonder
And this journey has led me to ponder;
Now I cannot help but want to stay

Your elegance is beyond reproach,
So I cannot help but want to approach.
You embody purity full of grace,
Which I’m scared I might deface.
I cannot help it; I want you to stay.

Your presence heightens my senses
And so I fail to mention,
That the thought of you cripples all perplexity;
And my heart overflows with peace.
So I cannot help but want to say…

In God’s presence I am complete
But in you I find a love so unique

Once Upon a Story

Once upon a story
By Herold Osmond Owoseb

Is it true that it is you?
Is it true that we never knew?
My mind had forgotten but my heart has revived it
The feelings I have hidden, I now revisit

Yesterday so clear today
Cute smiles I wish were mine to take
Yesterday it was but still it remains
A love I once felt; so strong again

Words left unsaid; thoughts I could not express
Is it worth containing while love is failing?
Reminiscing on a story, of love for the fairies
Once a friend I had hoped would be more

Good and Bad Days

Good and bad days
By Herold Osmond Owoseb

Good and bad days, come along and pass me by
Good and bad days, I wish would bring me peace
Good and bad days seem far away when you’re not near
Good and bad days, don’t mean a thing if you’re not here with me
Good and bad days, may always come along
Good and bad days, will remind us to trust God more
Good and bad days, may keep us apart but
A good or bad day, I know will bring us back together again
May happiness follow us both,
In good or bad days, no matter who we share them with

I Speak of Love

I speak of love
By Herold Osmond Owoseb

I speak of love at sunrise
I speak of love in the sunshine
I speak of love when the rain dries
I speak of love when the wind dies

I speak of love in the night time
I speak of love in the bright light
I speak of love when the birds fly
I speak of love when my heart cries

I speak of love as the days come and pass me by
A love I find in laughter and splendour,
All year round for those seen and unseen,
Who reflect it back to me
Each day I speak of the love I find around me

Under the Camelthorn Tree

Under the Camelthorn tree
By Herold Osmond Owoseb

Beneath the tree, lies thy heart
Beneath the tree lies the truth
Where strangers came to lay their head
Where creatures came to escape the heat
Beneath the tree, lies the key
The key that holds the peace
A peace that shows that we are free

I Call You Friend

I call you friend
By Herold Osmond Owoseb

I have walked for miles
I have seen the tiles
And felt the colours of the rainbow
I have seen your smile
For more than a while.
Have watched you grow and thrive;
Into the talented young woman you are today.
What else have I to say,
Other than that you have inspired me,
To be the bests me I could ever be.
Moments have come and gone
And I wish for that special smile to brighten my day
I have a friend I can call a friend,
Even when life brings the distance.
May you continue to blossom
And ignite like a torch of hope for many to see

Beautiful Soul

Beautiful soul
BY HEROLD OSMOND OWOSEB

In your heart there is a river
That flows so calm and still
In your eyes there I see a light
That shines like the sun

Beautiful soul beautiful soul
Wonderful light within thy eyes

I feel my heart raising as I gaze upon your eyes
Your eyes, your eyes filled with light
Leads the way to your soul

Lovely

Lovely
BY HEROLD OSMOND OWOSEB
Lovely, he is so lovely
Gentle, he is so gentle
He calls me beauty
He says I define the word beautiful

I love him
He says he loves me too
We are so happy
They say we are meant to be

Sometimes he hits me
But I guess it is my fault
He says that I belong to him
Never will I have anyone else

I am trapped
Nobody knows that he carries a gun
If you are reading this
Than I must be dead

                                                                                                                        8 June 2013

Voices

Voices
BY HEROLD OSMOND OWOSEB

Voices, many voices in my head
Choices, many choices in my hand
Crying, drying every tear arriving
Trying, lying but many things colliding
My mind so tired,
Many tears of fire
Need some silence,
Lord please consume this

                                                                                                                               27April 2013

Prisoner

Prisoner
BY HEROLD OSMOND OWOSEB
I dare not say that I am innocent for I am not
I have committed a crime
But my delinquency is contrary to felony
I have committed a crime of goodwill

My transgression may not require the compensation of a custodial sentence
But I deem it necessary to be jailed
Furthermore, I implore thee to let me hang by the tree
For I find no a reason to walk any longer

For too long I have carried the burden
Too long I have held on to this love
I have loved uncontrollably
My whole heart I have given unto thee

Though I am dubious of thy thoughts
I ponder on what to do
Locking the door is painful
But no longer can I wait, for a shooting star on a cloud-covered sky

                                                                                                     29 November 2011

To You

To you
BY HEROLD OSMOND OWOSEB
To you, the star in my luminous night
To you, the light in this dark stricken life
To you, the only glimpse of fulfilment
To you, my peace in natures great storm
To you, the one who was and still remains
To you, my Lord, father and friend

Treasures of Thy Heart

Treasures of thy heart
BY HEROLD OSMOND OWOSEB
Last time I checked I was the kid in the back row
Quiet, reliant, in need of direction
Congested in this pool of life
Trying, denying the wisdom residing.
Hiding and lying in these streets of defiance.
Detected by Abel but rejected by Cain.
Elected by the body and effective in the story.
Taken a journey to find that I’m longing, for a sense of belonging.
Trapped in the glory, filled with the story of the rest of my journey.
A sense of knowing when times get stormy,
That peace is dwelling inside the truth for all to find
Such as this that I am made by love to reflect the love within my heart.
So I will live, under the cloud of His glory,
In search of the treasures within his heart

I'M Looking For You

I'm Looking For You
By Herold Osmond Owoseb

I have longed to see the sea but never felt the breeze
I have been in the desert but never felt the heat
Back and forth I go around
searching for a place of refuge and shelter

I'm empty inside but have plenty outside
Have a lot to live for
And little to wish for
Yesterday, today the emptiness dictates

I've done phenomenal things; but still haven't found the joy
Have seen many places but still haven't reached my destination
Mountains I've climbed and seen the top
But still that void remains

Now I know that only you can fill my emptiness
A space been here for too long
And for you my heart keeps on; hoping to find rest
I've found myself but I'm looking for you
                                                                                          7 April 2010

Godly Expression

Godly expression
BY HEROLD OSMOND OWOSEB
Character full of colour
Many shades of beauty
Seeds of greatness trapped within
A great mystery I desire to discover

So composed, a great masterpiece
Clothed with stillness and humility
At times getting lost in thought
A great journey undertaken

Like the colours of the sunset
You are blended with uniqueness
Like a cloud in the midst of a cloud-covered sky
You stand out in the world

Many will draw life from your utterances
A river springs forth from within you
You are not meant to fit in
Your unique design is God expressing Himself through you
