If boxers worked at farms making bales
Then we would call them haymakers
If hammers are made to hit nails
Then they could be finger breakers
If boxers ate hay everyday for lunch
Then bale making would be hands free
If the haymakers really pack a punch
Then that’d be the last straw for me
If fingers were stronger than hammers
Then consider boxer’s hands armed
If they’re used for more than nail slammers
Then bales are made in jails, not farmed

"Steel Blades"
All these spiels and games
Yet another shady deal made
We do not feel the same
Chop you up with steel blades
Your body left in the field decays
I've no interest in starting to kneel and pray
Too many secrets hidden and sealed away
Regardless does time ever truly heal the pain?
It's happened 9 hundred and 11 times
Eventually I had to sever ties
Because it all started to jeopardize
For the longest time I could never find
The way toward a better life
In darkness the sun would hardly ever shine
Until the second I, recognized
That I was being less than wise
So I switched it up and reenergized
Memorize that goonies never say die
Still searching for where the buried treasure lies
Claiming they're legit with fake papers
People always trying to gain favor
No need for a weight trainer
I got to accumulate paper
Still all the snakes and haters
Don't be such a naysayer
Or wait a day later
I'm breaking through the clay layers
Meanwhile life's always throwing out haymakers
How I handle it is a game changer
When in great danger
Found a way in nature
Within eight acres
Many times for others I became a savior

Everybody want that old thing
everybody want that new thing too
got me on my Billy Paul ya know…
when love is new, it's perfect it's worth it
those hugs and kisses goodbye got you
feeling like yeah I deserve this
yeah everybody want that old thing back
but want that new love too
nobody told me in order to get that
you gotta sacrifice a piece of you
You want that old thing? they want that old you too
That passion, that desire, that fire, them all nighters
but is it truly sustainable? Obtainable
after so much time has passed?
Married life, kids, careers is it truly meant to last?
I leave that one for you to figure out
yeah I know you can't change the past
but when life comes at you
with uppercuts and haymakers
you got parry wit your own combination
of hooks & jabs

Some promptly left and didn't return,
Some chose to stay with concern showing.
For a finer life perhaps the first did yearn,
All building lives as families were growing.
While additional left and later moved back,
Renewing friendships, letting memories churn.
Having tasted life the other side of the track,
Sporadically, for School Reunions, others return.
We've now grown older and some have passed,
We now have fewer possessive things to crave.
Our hair is graying and our eyes are glassed,
As our steps grow slower this side of the grave.
But we've lived life by no means just half way,
Wherever we've been we remained in God's sight.
For without His grace what would we be today,
Just old Haskell Haymakers but still in the fight.

Out the door
is a vicious game
a process
battle of spite
tug of war
circus of irritation
where nobody loses
no one wins
a bloody senseless draw
no referee
only stiff jabs
right crosses
haymakers
countered by blow
after blow
low...

For the bounty of the earth
Come Ye thankful people come
For it is Autumn
And the leaves are coming down
Run run sweet John Barley Corn
Let's play ring around the pumpkin
As the harvest moon shines
On the jingle jangle scarecrow
For I'am just a little acorn
Bounded for another harvest home
As the wind shakes the barley
Like a slow Thanksgiving waltz
For our farmers sets the table
To a wondrous haymakers hoedown
For we bid ado to a Shokan's fairwell
And now thank we to all our God
Happy Harvest Time To All
Love Kathy And Jenny
May God Be With You
Just Another Song Working On LOL
Let Me Know What Ya Think Please
