Haskell Poems

Premium Member'eddie Haskell'

Do you recall that ornery rascal
Who played the role of one 'Eddie Haskell' --
    Good morning, Mrs. Cleaver
And how's my friend, 'the Beaver?' --
Like a laughing hyena ~ or jackal

David and Ricky were cute, at best
Bud Anderson was a clueless pest
But that enduring, fun rascal
our dear Eddie Haskell
provided a refreshing, honest zest!

Premium MemberWallace, Wally, Cleaver and Eddie Haskell

Wallace “Wally” Cleaver
handsome, well-liked high achiever,
befriended Eddie, so unlike him.
Golly!* Wally wasn’t given to whim!

Eddie Haskell
was a neat, slick, conniving rascal.
With his flattery and pseudo-smiles,
he spiced up the show with his wiles.

Leave It to Beaver

*Wally and other characters use expressions like “Gee whiz,” “Gosh,” and “Golly.”

The Haskell News
Written: by Miracle Man
July 6, 2020

A small town paper that’s been around for a spell,
But is this pandemic sounding its coming death knell?
It reports all things local that make small town news,
weddings, deaths, school activities, and diverse views.

But like all things in life, has it outlived its time?
Suddenly are we hearing a faint death bell chime?
It’s put up a good fight but from reality can’t hide,
thinking back on the years it’s been a great ride.

The last issue was published on August 27, 2020
The headline said The End, Saying Goodbye after 115 years.
so sad.

Premium MemberBeware, Eddie Haskell

Beware, Eddie Haskell
  Consummate flatterer
Don't eat up his praise---
   He'll stay thin
      ~ You'll get fatter
