Our Past Is Unforgiving
Miracle Man
4/23/2023

We squander our time
when we venture into the waste land of life
inhabited by the what-if’s, and if I’d only.

Time is not a granter of mulligans,
so the past is unforgiving.

Mistakes or bad decisions are a part of life,
and leaves collateral damage which affects others.
Any mistakes should be viewed as teaching tools.

Premium MemberLynx and Mad Grost Are Dissatisfied

The leopard, jaguar, puma and lion had their own queen.
Lynx wanted one too; one with shine, sparkle and sheen.
The granter of queens told him he could have one in frost.
He gave him an ice queen. Her name was Mad Grost.

But she is cold and mean, lynx argued to the granter of wishes.
She is what she is, she will come around slowly like the fishes.
Lynx was unhappy as was Mad Grost, who did not like Lynx.
She said to the granter, why don’t you turn that little cur into a spinx?

Nothing Like Diabetes

Nothing like Diabetes!
Roger has been quite at ease:
A Devoted Yam Planter,
Who stops to drink Sweet Fanta,
To Raw Energy increase
And Fine Harvest not decrease…

Fairy Tale Diabetes!
Roger’s breaths not in wheezes.
He had, too, been on Quanta;
A Sure Double Strength Granter;
You won’t Helping Hands tell “Please!”
How would it get in: Disease?

Roger too is a Rice Planter,
Who work suspends for Granta:
A drink for Clearest Vision,
Against all Mind Division
That would breed Plain Confusion;
Male Child gives after Fusion
Low Sperm Count Quick Revision…

Fanta has results produced,
Granta more intake induced;
Nothing like Diabetes!
A Paul, too, has been at ease!

Premium MemberHope Is A Lady

Hope's a lady, a wish, and a prayer,
offering endless possibilities.
She's dressed in hand-me-downs, frail and threadbare,
spun from fears and responsibilities.

She visits the hearts of both old and young,
often appearing as a last resort.
And She has been dubbed a slip of the tongue,
an Angel, and a fantasy escort.

She's stubborn and not known to disappear,
although sometimes She may dwindle away.
And yet, if summoned, She will reappear
when life's calamities come into play.

A granter of wishes, She sets the stage
with anticipation, magic, and trust.
And in the book of life, She turns each page:
She's hung around since we were formed from dust.

Dream Genie

i was a
float and
we were on

a boat but
it was
also

like the
noteless
bobbing

bottle that
maybe con
tained

some
thing
to drink

but as luck
as the Irish
would have

it only
held and
had a wish

granter
i even
hit it

ketchup
style but
go figure

nothing
came out
but an old

genie that went
through the usual
spiel of one wish and

only one so
watch what you
wish for because my

ship mate
immediately
asked for water

to all be
turned in
to guinness

so it was
approved
as far as i

knew it appeared
i could drink
the ocean

but realizied then
when i needed
to pee

i'd have to
fill my boat
because why

would i want
to drink a
glass of

my
own
sea

Dream From Delayed Check

I dream another
dark towered city
that masks the sky, glistens
like diamonds in moisture
and loves the rain at night.

With my muddy eyes,
I grope, chilled,
wish for familiar warm
small spaces alone.

I dream the pension-granter
decides it's time for me to die.
My muddy mind races through that
looking for ways to combat the terror.
Bound to happen sometime I dream,
considering painful options.
