EIGHTY YEARS OF BLESSINGS
Each day that God has given you since you were just a youth
In your own way you’ve glorified the Savior with His truth.
God’s given you a family and many wondrous years;
He’s seen you through some trying days with all those many tears.
Today you look back once again to how God has blessed you,
You realize how much He means and all that He can do.
Eighty years—it’s not a lot; it’s a short lapse of time,
It’s just a vapor in the wind, and yet in it we find
God wants to use those few short years to magnify His name;
He’s used you in that special way His praises to proclaim.
Today I look at all you’ve meant in my life here below—
You’ve been a blessing here to me, a precious friend to know.
--Dedicated to Carolyn Grandy on her 80th birthday

A GREAT BIG JAR OF MONEY
A great big jar of money to help a little girl,
The money that we saved up to go to Disney World,
But this poor girl is hurting, she’s been so badly burned,
And they have no insurance; and when of this we learned,
We knew we had to help her, though it might not be much,
Somehow we know that Jesus can give that special touch
To multiply that money as others sacrifice
To help that little girl the next years of her life.
The pennies and the nickels, the quarters and the dimes
Will all count up to help her as onward passes time.
Some day if Christ should tarry that precious little girl
Might want to go with Daddy to visit Disney World.
But we can wait for now, Lord, so bless this gift, we pray,
And bring that little Lydia quick healing through the days.
Dedicated to two girls who helped Lydia Grandy when she was burned.

Memory, it takes me to years back,
When you protected us from the dark,
These tears for you I roll,
While my phone gallery I scroll,
Staring at the pictures imagining of course,
How elegant we pose with you in the back rows,
Holding our hands, a big happy family,
Having no idea you would leave us finally,
Concerned for our future, you took us to school,
So as to learn life's golden rule,
Now we struggle to keep up,
Care and love we had drifts, because of the gap,
We've forgotten your teachings on brotherhood,
As we concentrate to create ourselves a livelihood,
You now have twelve grandchildren,
(Junior, Leon, Ryan, Ian, Andy, Tyrone,
Grandpa, Hermes, Grandy, Queen, Nolarn,
Lowell Jabilo, Jakarungu, Mama and Fadhili)
I myself still have none,
Still your lineage has really expanded,
The 'Buore's', the name we've branded,

Glamorous, fun and full of life
Always an interesting and loyal wife
Around the village she is known
For living life in her own particular tone
For her family she does prepare
Many a feast beyond compare
For the animals so oft alone
She has given much love, shelter and even her home
Come Christmas time the house is all a glitter
As Audrey runs around doing the annual jitter
Smiling from within is this special being
Generous, giving and all seeing
Her energy would seem to overflow
Never one to leave others low
This is my grandmother The Great Grandy
Whose life runs circles around those less than 80!
To my life you have brought
Something which can never be taught
You gave yourself, you made me smile
As I saw you go the extra mile
Within my thoughts I hold you dear
And in that way you are always near
I close my eyes and picture your face
And know that time cannot displace
The essence of the inner you
That in my life now follows through
Thank you for always being such a dear
Your effect on my life is more than clear
