A Great Big Jar of Money

A GREAT BIG JAR OF MONEY A great big jar of money to help a little girl, The money that we saved up to go to Disney World, But this poor girl is hurting, she’s been so badly burned, And they have no insurance; and when of this we learned, We knew we had to help her, though it might not be much, Somehow we know that Jesus can give that special touch To multiply that money as others sacrifice To help that little girl the next years of her life. The pennies and the nickels, the quarters and the dimes Will all count up to help her as onward passes time. Some day if Christ should tarry that precious little girl Might want to go with Daddy to visit Disney World. But we can wait for now, Lord, so bless this gift, we pray, And bring that little Lydia quick healing through the days. Dedicated to two girls who helped Lydia Grandy when she was burned.
