Such is Duchess
Amma to her “Youngens”,
Joie D’Vivre, Raison D’Etre to Dennis,
Source of course to Lucy,
Linds’s famed legs fill long johns,
Artist of Nature, watercolor canvas,
Friends savor her company “Juicy”,
Cherishing, sensing a loss when she’s “Sans”,
Creative yet Linds’s modesty sends,
She’s our Yoga “Loosie Goosy”,
Caring School Nurse hands,
Cure tears without fuss,
Comforting fears as one becomes Twosie,
Not slave to fashion, bucking trends,
Shelter from rain, hurricane crust,
Evoking a true sigh,
May all her rends mend,
In Duchess We Trust,
She brings about others’ soaring high,
Our Birthday Wish for Linds is her fondest dreams blend!

The geese have migrated
taking many songbirds with them.
Some Canada Geese
have chosen to stay in the parking lots
by the busy shops, ensconced
within their un-feathered nests.
All day they direct the traffic,
attack cars if they come too near.
Night and day we Ohioans
try to ignore them,
but the geese
have fluffed up their goosy egos,
and will bar the way
of weary travelers
until they choose to waddle
disdainfully away.
Honk at them
and they honk back.
In Florida the songbirds
party-on
giving not a thought
to the still migrating,
still honking.

Wife’s hair was blowing when they took their ride.
My hairdo is awful! Said Mrs. Goosy McBride.
Her old geezer husband said “wish we had stayed inside.”
No longer cherishing his time with his bride.
They are grumpy for sure, said a neighbor who saw.
She is a doctor, and he studies boring mortgage law.
They never smile or party or wave or act friendly at all.
Their persnickety stuck-up attitudes are rather small.

I am in love with a real babe, Foxy Moxy said to his cousin Line.
Gabe was picturing a sensuous fox with a silver tail fluffy and fine.
You will meet her shortly, Foxy told him. She’s over by that pine.
Line squinted his eyes, but he could see no female fox sublime.
He was confused by Foxy’s declaration, where could she be?
Yonder by the tallest pine, Foxy told him. The fluffiest tree.
Goosy walked up to his cousin and gave him a peck on the cheek.
Line was astounded and gave out a growl and a squeak.
I know we are diverse, Foxy Moxy said to his favorite cousin.
But she has the heart of gold of at least ten women, maybe a dozen.
They married in May, under the pine so sweet, both of them happy.
Line kept his mouths shut, eager to see the face of grandpappy.

Mooing oohing barnyard zooming
Loosy goosy is gently grooming.
True blue moon is choosing looming.
Sue Boo’s moose is rooster booming.
We are through with the foolishness of you two.
Come back in a month after you move in with McGoo
There’s no need for fu dog stew, nothing to prove.
This moony barn is frankly peaceful in its wonderful groove.

Moving On,Up!
In a closely woven nest,
lives a crow,it sets out in flight,
It stretches its wings side by side,
Far and high,it soars.
In the woods,an ancient anthill stands.
Lonely but firmly on the clayey ground.
These social ants troop out in numbers,
Creeping and trailing a way up a hill.
In a still pond, sided by leafy greens.
Fluffy yellow ducky,feathery white goosy,
With the 'quack,quack,honk,honk',
They swim afloat and merrily towards the horizon.
In a warm cottage with a chimney exhaling smoke,
Dwells a fair dude and he dashes out trekking the weedy paths.
Plying that route to the castle on the heaping mounts,
To dine with the kings someday.
