Where has America’s decency gone
Long time passing
All the folks who support Hamas
would thrill to Auschwitz’ gassings
Hamas rapes, burns and slaughters Jews
Palestinians celebrate these ‘heroes’
Their American supporters don’t want Jews to fight back
The number of foes killed will have too many zeroes
No matter that Hamas embeds its troops
in Gaza’s hospitals and schools
Or that they use human shields
to pad the numbers killed urban war yields…
Meanwhile, Hamas blocks food and humanitarian aid
from ever reaching civilians
As their fat-cat leaders luxuriate in Qatar
drinking and dining in pavilions
Where has America’s moral compass gone
to support monsters like Hamas…
Those who scream ‘from the River to the Sea’
would eliminate each and every Jew ~ Nazi brutality to surpass
with eyes averted in graceful melancholy
what joy could be left not in belief
in new territory aweless with stale miracle
pond tossed stone rings ripple and die
obstinate and prolonged no going back
less new territory than new humility
once determined that the future is invention
we know not what the future will bring
other than by the offices of retrocalculation
subjective qualia gurgitated as analysis
what do I need in my head right now
to get the existence tax man off my back
forced to speak in a bland manner
to avoid the assassin just outside my door
because I have a face similar to others
which is apparently not impossible
yet a cause for some embarrassment
amongst the landfill intelligentsia
still capable of roundups and gassings
burning inquiries in a dark broaching sea
so dark all which is known is of no use
and one necessarily waits for nothing new
another boring accumulation of mystery
its inestimable charm pulls you off balance
a necklace of kisses from the blasphemer
offering your suffering ambivalence
nothing less than the tools of discovery
Never Forget
Oh thou of wretched heart and deed
Inferior our seeds?
When thus thou felt the need to rule
Annihilate deemed weeds
Thou casteth out your wicked net
Of guns and war bent twine
No bulwark for the Jews was found
Declaring heads decline
Compliant soldiers marched the streets
For ducats hedged your bet
With waving flags and Hail Hitler’s
Obliging hands were met
Whilst cyanide was gassings Jews
Obedience decreed
In bunkers hid you reigned your realm
Coward of plotted deeds
When one man tries to rid the world
Of an imagined foe
Mankind will raise its voice as one
He’ll reap what he did sow
