Futilities Poems | Examples

Premium Memberwhen doves cry

it's usually early
as day starts turning
over
when the air around is as heavy as
seas
in your chest
feelings are intermixed
between despair
and hope

like the sea
when your odds are in a bottle,
scribbled futilities tossed to the waves,
exit on the backside
of tides

until they resurface
with old whale stench
one out of water
tanning
under a hard sun

doves cry
in the shade
of mahogany trees
between noon and three

when my mother's mother's
roundabout
nonsense
lyrics
"Moses speak_God's word
Isaac too"
come fresh
to me

the doleful
doves
portend cardinality
begging adulterers
to repentance

"Feathery Prophets!"

grandmothers had spoken
   that death will walk
   into this village,
   some house, any hour,
   more sure than May rain,
   taking stock
   and mourners...
   and choirs...
   and pastors preach
   and pray you well
   while you sleep
   later we'll all fall asleep

Read Me A Story of Time Lost

Here they are,
all the books left to be unread
just when dreams fill your head
of all the magic and wonder and possibilities
of finding your freedom, escaping life's futilities
  rather than face the realities;

we can ban the ones we dislike
  another's views are mere hype
  as we each escape into someone else's good night;
so much power in free thought
  what knowledge could be brought
words, ideas, or inspiration outdated or those for which generations fought?

Ban the books,
  burn them to ash,
change moves too quick, far too fast.
let the embers glow
igniting those ideas with which we disagree
after all, are any of us truly free?

Time To Grow Up, Time To Let Go

A no brainer, my darling, to continue playing games
Steaming hot one moment, next moment blowing cold
As though cold water couldn’t quench love flames
When like a rogue driver brave braking action you withhold

Hoping a head on collision you can so prevent
With your eyes closed and bullying tactics pushed forward
To actualize an evolutionary event
In which we reap our fair reward

But for the umpteenth time
We run round and round in sterile circles
Aiming for progress only to mime an irrelevant rhyme
Expecting to work miracles

In scenarios you poison
On purpose
As I shout ‘treason’
From the servile source

You glorify
In earnestness
Only to magnify and stupefy
The sadness

That drowns my wonderful world in a sea of sorrow
Without any relief
Yesterday, today or tomorrow
As your mischief

Heightens my determination once and for all
To brighten up prospects for joy
To return to you and I despite the fall
From grace which at our expense debacles enjoy

Unless either you and I decree it’s time to let go
Or it’s high time we grew up
Escapades, futilities, fantasies and failures to forgo
To gulp good tidings from our lofty love cup.

Premium MemberQuantum Directness

Quantum Directness

There is an approach
to self-recognition
arriving daily to many..
A direct recognition
of what we are
comes from a
very subtle noticing..
A soft kick
off the line on which
we have walked
in years of practice
and assumption
and fear..
A quick quantum
recognition of some
arrangement of nature and
past futilities of a sudden
are bared...

Futilities In My Life

When your silence becomes heavy as old souls
I march on Gettysburg
	(There are many casualties)
As if shooting at snowflakes
	When the war is over
Will make the Winter go away.

When my own voice roars like cannon long & loud
I run to my garden
	(My enemies all were shadows)
As if digging up crocus
	To check for new growth
Will make the Spring return faster.

Beauty

Hear the rock cry out to the ocean
Watch the ocean cry out to the moon
Sense the moon crying out to the sun
Feel the sun as it cries out to the lily~
Manifested beauty cries out from the earth
“Let our reflection be seen and our song be heard throughout the universe
As we manifest our beauty back to Creator”
What say you oh son of man?
Shall you keep silent in the shadows while all of creation manifests its beauty?
Where is the beauty given you?
Have you lost it, or just masked it with falsities?
Futilities that waste untapped potential in your beauty;
Awake oh daughter! Arise dear son!
Manifest your beauty and radiate your light given you
Before it is too late and regret sets in for the death of your soul~
Arise dear ones and manifest the beauty given you
