Premium MemberYou’re Only Lonely

let fire eat your flaming tears
as your world stumbles and falls
landing on your glass shoulders
I want you to know—never
ever—wrap yourself in shame
step out in your wilderness
squint-eyed and confused, I can
umbrella your tears to rain
if you, so choose.

Bridge over Styx

Just like that —
Bridges fall hard
Like a pile of sticks
In your backyard
Against deceit,
Be on your guard
And of betrayal, be wary

A bond that lasted
Twenty years
One day, wake up —
Disappears
A shroud of darkness,
Anger and tears
Like a coal mine eating a canary

So don’t look down —
When you’re crossin’ that mighty Styx
And your friends line up for the gauntlet
As they try to get in their licks

A friend in need?
Who needs that?
Inconvenience
Is like old hat
And we won’t sit where
Poor dupes have set
On the idiot stools of loyalty

Yeah, selfishness
Is a better bet
Bet the coins on your eyes
What you can get
From the shore of memory,
The sun will set
And each of us will feel like royalty

So don’t look down

Tryin’ to make a safe passage
Into later life
But holdin’ onto old relationships
Is like standin’ on a sharpened knife

No don’t look down —
You’re crossin’ that River Styx
Where your friends line up for the gauntlet
Tryin’ to get in last licks

More Than A Soft Toy

To her mum's spanks,
let her cry on your tender shoulder,
oh, soft toy Teddy,

Through all her sleepless nights,
lull her to deep sleep
by her side remain steady.

When the weather burns hot,
soak her sweat away.
When cold wind whispers
let your warmth be ever ready.

Though you are a toy,
be more than that to her,
If you had a tummy
Let her feed you, as if you live.

Though, she dislikes your silver shade,
in the darkest nights,
let your brightness calm her fears.
Throughout her childhood
even for a breath, never leave.

Remain her best friend;
though wordless, speak to her heart,
for only in your comfort she believes.

Such were the tender words of my aunt's sermon,
to my beautiful Eliza,
for she fulfilled each promise
made to Aunty Jane
showering me with nothing but relief.

Joana, here I hand over to you Eliza,
from your grand Aunt to you my niece,
As it guided my childhood,
let it guide yours too.

Keep it clean, take good care of it.
As I hand it over to you,
one day hand it over to your niece too,
a bond of comfort
that will outlive just us two.

Permission to Stay

Tell you something
Something funny in it itself because
It doesn't sound to make sense.
I intentionally keep around you because
Deep down inside something tells me
"Someday it's going to have to be me to save you"
And I just want to be around you until that day
That's why I stay
Even when you turn a blind eye on me
Even when I pretend to be silent
I still want to be there
Be there around you
Even in the least possible ways that I can.

the two

the two were a best match
opposites attract, interest meets
the two tried to leave one another but
the two were tubed

lessons learned, trials faced but
they always found a way
through groups and tribes
new faces and towns
nobody ever cliqued like the two

Afterglow

We are light and noise when we are together,
A world of shared laughter, forgetting the weather.
Your presence is sunlight, a warm, golden glow,
Where the smiles on our faces have nowhere to go.

The jokes and the stories, the carefree embrace,
Leave no room for shadows or sorrow to trace.
For hours, we exist in a bright, vivid hue,
Two lives intersecting, feeling brand new.

But then comes the moment, the quiet goodbye,
A flicker of doubt in the back of my eye.
And as you turn homeward and fade from my sight,
The vibrant world dulls, losing all of its light.

The echo of laughter still rings in the air,
A ghost of the happiness we used to share.
The world grows more silent, the colors grow dim,
Like a lighthouse that flickers and fades at the rim.

The feeling unwinds like a thread wearing thin,
Leaving an absence where you once had been.
The memory is held, a comfort, a pain,
While waiting for the moment to be bright again.

My Unknown Lover

In slumber's realm, you visit me each night,
A mystical presence, a guiding light.
Though unseen, your essence I behold,
A guardian angel, watching over my soul.

With every dream, our bond takes flight,
A connection deep, a love so bright.
I know we're destined, meant to be,
Two hearts entwined, a love yet to see.

The day we meet, my heart will sing,
A joy so pure, my soul will take wing.
I'll behold your face, your loving eyes,
And know that God has kept you for me, my prize.

My unknown, my heart beats for you alone,
Longing to see you, to hold you, to call you my own.
In dreams, you're vivid, a radiant light,
A glimpse of heaven, a love so divine and bright.

With every breath, I'll wait for the day,
When fate brings us together, come what may.
Until then, know that you're always near,
In my heart, in my dreams, you're always dear.

God's promise whispers, "They'll meet in time,"
A love so strong, a bond so sublime.
My unknown, my best friend, my guiding star,
I'll cherish our connection, near and far.

we can play pretend

i feel so stupid
i actually believed you loved me
i believed every lie
how could i know it wasn't true?
it all seemed so real
the smiles, the laughs
every time you were there for me
how much of it was fake?
i forget you're an actor
and you're really good at it too
you can easily play any role you're given
it makes sense you could pretend to love me
you have me on your strings
they're on my limbs
controlling my every move
holding on so tight
i can't break free
i'm like your puppet in a way
i do what you want me to do
i act how you want me to act
it's like i'm wearing a mask but
i'm hiding all your truths underneath it
i know you so well
better than you know
yet it's like i don't know you at all
i would've never expected this from you
i changed when i found out the lies
i've never been able to look at you the same
i question everything you say and do
but i didn't change to you
i stayed the same
pretended i didn't know
because i think you forget
i'm an actor too

donation

i'm a shirt in the depths of your closet
shoved so far back
i'm not sure you even remember i'm here
it wasn't always this way
i used to be your favorite
i remember the day you found me
it was like love at first sight
i half expected you to leave me on the dressing room floor
cold, dark, empty
you didn't though
you took me with you
and we went everywhere together
we made so many memories
you hung me back in the closet once
i expected you to take me out again
i waited
and waited
you opened the door again
i thought you were going to grab me
you reached for me
but you grabbed the shirt in front of me
your new favorite
i waited
and waited and waited again
but i only got pushed farther back
you open the door
i figured you'd reach right past me like the last times
but you grabbed me
this is all i had been wishing for
we were together once more
you take one look at me
reflecting on our past together
then you toss me away in a small box
cold, dark, empty
why wouldn't you do that from the start?
leave me on that dressing room floor?
why take me
only to leave me in the end?

Mine favourite colours came to be
When her piece of art set me free.

Reflection of my best friend!

My best friend walks beside my soul,
Not always seen, but always whole.
We talk in ways the world won’t hear,
In jokes and jabs and thoughts sincere.

We’re echoes in a common shell,
Two minds where one truth loves to dwell.
We share the heat of daily light,
And wrap each other through the night.

55 seconds still, no sound,
Yet louder peace is rarely found.
In silence, storms begin to slow,
We trade our highs, confess our low.

One day, the world will understand,
How friendship doesn’t need a hand.
Just rigorous, kind observation
A glance, a pause, a revelation.

I met him once not far, not wide,
But looking from the other side.
A mirror framed our secret blend
Myself, and still—my truest friend.

Premium MemberThat Pause Between Summer and Autumn

School was out, setting her free in summer -
free to tell friends bye, be lonely and cry.
Tears would spill for a best friend of one year
who she had learned would in time forget her.
Most teens knew same place and faces through school.
Military brats do not live that truth.

Summer would decide her joy for school's start.
Parents choose suburbs, not an army base,
to be this year's school and friends starting place.
She hoped the house was in a neighborhood
with teens her same age to share summer skies,
then fall, winter and spring for her next page.

Bestie became enemy

?? "Bestie Became Enemy"

Bestie became enemy, sharp like a knife,
I never thought you'd cut me out of your life.
I gave you my secrets, my soul, my trust,
Now all that's left is broken dust.

You knew my pain, you held my hand,
I thought you'd always understand.
But jealousy grew where love should stay,
And now your kindness fades away.

You smiled while you watched me fall,
Laughed behind every fake call.
The bond we had has lost its shine,
Your heart was dark, while I gave mine.

Now you smile with my worst enemy,
You cherish my pain, not what once set me free.
You've become a thorn, deep in my flesh,
Your presence no longer feels warm or fresh.

But I’ve learned the truth, I’ve seen the signs,
Not all sweet souls walk straight lines.
You were my sister, now you’re my test,
I let you go — and wish you the best.

Phases and Faces

The table’s set, the cards are stacked,
Coffee is ready, out come the snacks.
Allana grins, that knowing look—
She’s got Phase 1 like it’s a book.

We start out slow, just laying sets,
But soon the room is full of bets:
“Will she skip me?” “Who's on Phase 3?”
The drama builds deliciously.

A run of four, a colour sweep,
Wild cards hoarded, secrets deep.
“Who shuffled this?” we all accuse,
As Allana drops—Phase 5, no shoes.

She plays with style, she plays with sass,
She’ll drop a Skip and raise her glass.
A card shark No. She’s something more:
The kind of friend worth playing for.

Phase 7 brings some minor feud—
“Reverse again? You’re kinda rude!”
But laughter trumps each petty slight,
And every hand makes hearts feel light.

By Phase 10, the end is near,
Unless she's stuck—then we all cheer.
But win or lose, it’s understood:
With Allana there, it’s always good.

So here’s to nights we won’t forget,
With rules, revenge, and no regret.
Through every deal, you make it fun—
Phase 10’s best with you, Allana.
