Once my love, was a time
When I could quote line for line
The lyric of our love
Still this day I think of you
Beautiful Sky
The baby blue, red, and orange hues
Leaves of autumn
Come another day
You remind me of yesterday
This lyric of love
We brought to life
With smiles, laughter, and happy eyes
Pleasant Avenue
Run away again
To the hills, and into Beautiful Sky

sitting in a gazebo
in the rain with you
watching the water flow with a smile
enjoying the quiet as well as the stillness
listening to you sing love (can make you happy)
and saying to my self, 'oh mercy!'
making you laugh mid-lyric
then i sing 'laughter in the rain'
to myself while enjoying the beautiful
singing voice and the pleasure of the
pleasingly permanent company of the
One That I Love......Nothing Like It!

Your Pull
by Michael R. Burch
for Beth
You were like sunshine and rain—
begetting rainbows,
full of contradictions, like the intervals
between light and shadow.
That within you which I most opposed
drew me closer still,
as a magnet exerts its unyielding pull
on insensate steel.

Stay With Me Tonight
by Michael R. Burch
Stay with me tonight;
be gentle with me as the leaves are gentle
falling to the earth.
And whisper, O my love,
how that every bright thing, though scattered afar,
retains yet its worth.
Stay with me tonight;
be as a petal long-awaited blooming in my hand.
Lift your face to mine
and touch me with your lips
till I feel the warm benevolence of your breath’s
heady fragrance like wine.
That which we had
when pale and waning as the dying moon at dawn,
outshone the sun.
Hence, lead me back tonight
through bright waterfalls of light
to where we shine as one.

Late of '56, a run through time I'll take
In your sweet blue shorts and top
You stopped my time and said
"Mister, a ticket for 1 if you please
I have this night all for myself,
So I'm taking my chances".
And I stood till the night ends,
At the front door of the movies
Hoping you'd notice,
The silly brown eyed man in me.
So here I am taking my chances,
Walked straight right up and said
"I hope you don't mind,
but you stopped my time for a while,
and I know this is silly,
But lady if you'd let me,
may I walk you home?".
Time came, I knew you well
You held my hand and stayed
Here we are taking our chances
Hoping they'd do the same

Our stroll in night rain
fascinates my breaths anew,
when lark calls a melody
I find today, tomorrow in you.
Chorus:
Not even blooms or night rain,
could endure her lasting charm
that adorns glossed eyes
with love-light,so deeply warm.
And every morn evergreen
every sigh touched by sweet dew,
falls gently on air- brushed cheeks
to find today, tomorrow in you.
Chorus:
Not even blooms or night rain,
could endure her lasting charm
that adorns glossed eyes
with love-light, so deeply warm.
It’s you wandering on my mind,
that precious is this breathless view
while in silence, in longing
I find tomorrow… in you.
Then let this fondness
speak in a bolder, bolder hue
my woman cherished for a lifetime dream
until I find today, tomorrow... in you.

I write upon cloud clump spread on sky of sorrow,
sliding with the storm surge in my moist eyes,
melting to make torrent of tear
like rain drops rolling on
in reticulate rills on frail foliage face,
spurring me to write a poem for you.
The words I write upon cloud take dissolved shape new
in the sadness channel the tear drops trace
on my face drenched in rainy dawn
like withered leaf so bare,
where to write a new lyric the molten script tries,
keeps promise now for there’s no tomorrow.
Drifting in morose sky on the sad time’s arrow,
I can hear how silently pierced heart cries,
as I find you no longer near,
on chosen way you’re gone.
Upon cloud I write this verse no wind can deface,
but will take to you across the sky blue.

Oh, my darling as we promenade
Forlorn deaths of fashions stray
We go on along each way
As our hearts plumb the depths
As we then take a deep breath
We find that all we have left
In our lives is us and the Lord
As we plumb the depths of our Faith
And we receive, as we believe
As we believe, we receive
We are chosen, we are born again
As we walk within God’s unchanging plans
We focus on Him, who is almighty
Oh, my darling as we serenade
Forlorn psalms of devotion we pray
We go on along each and everyday
As our hearts plumb the depths
As we then take deep, deep breaths
And kiss the holy kiss
From our Lord and Savior King
He whom birth us again
We are chosen, we are born again
As we walk within God’s unchanging plans
We focus on Him, who is almighty
A strong tower our soul and spirit rest
As our heart plumb the depths

Scarlet sky splashes hues on the horizon,
in garden flushed by sun you walk alone.
There I’ll wait for you to come to me,
petals of my heart on the rose you’ll see,
you won’t be alone, you won’t be lonely.
Desert sands shine with mirage etched on,
across dunes you walk to the oasis alone.
There I’ll wait for you to embrace me,
shadow of my heart in blue lake you’ll see,
you won’t be alone, you won’t be lonely.
In my heart you’ll see yearning glow,
you’ll find the lost way to me I know.
Sparkling crown of pearls the waves put on,
in moonlit night on the beach you walk alone.
There you’ll hear I call you, come to me,
you’ll see my heart tossing on rolling sea,
you won’t be alone, you won’t be lonely.
As you write adoring lyric of life of your own,
on the bank of stream of love you walk alone.
There you’ll see me sail to take you with me,
your heart will glide on the ripples of melody,
you won’t be alone, you won’t be lonely.
In my heart you’ll see yearning glow,
you’ll find the lost way to me I know.

(In tune of the song "Your Song" by Elton John)
It’s my feeling of joyful time
I sense deep inside
It’s not me who can conceal time’s tide
My expression of love is silent, if it’s not
I’d give you it as a gift that you never got
If I was a painter, ha
But that I’m not, no
Or a dancer who performs until the end of show
It’s my ardent little effort to give you your due
My gift is this lyric, I wrote only for you
You can confess proudly
This is your dream
I can make it rhyme and flow like a stream
I know you will like
I know you will like
On its wings you will freely fly
In the rippling breeze of passion in my blue sky
I write poems sitting in mist of sorrow
In depth of gloomy heart I need to light a lamp I know
Silver moondust covered me
While I wrote this lyric
Flowing in love’s rhythm your heart it will seek
I keep on remembering
The shimmer of dew
Forming pearls in your eyes sparkling with sunrise hue
I am beguiled to the brim all the while
When I see the sweetest thing in your smile
You can confess proudly
This is your dream
I can make it rhyme and flow like a stream
I know you will like
I know you will like
On its wings you will freely fly
In the rippling breeze of passion in my blue sky
I know you will like
I know you will like
On its wings you will freely fly
In the rippling breeze of passion in my blue sky
