Pan’s Pip was fluttering close to the rose.
We saw her tiptoe on it, then twirling her toes.
She’s a ballerina said the hedgehog, totally smitten.
“I don’t agree,” said the brownie crawling out of a mitten.
Where did that come from? Asked a light damselfly.
Not sure, the brownie said, but it will make you cry.
There are dreams in there that will keep you up all night.
With your eyes all googly, full of terrified fright.
I wish you would find a new place to sleep, his cousin said.
That mitten has dreams that have messed up your head.
Pan’s Pip heard and came by to give an adjustment to the bed.
Great dreams came now, fed into the mitten’s yard head.

My muse smirks at the fixes she leaves me in.
Sometimes I wake up in a swamp teeming with alligators.
Or chewed up and spit out by an angry owl, in an owl pellet.
Once she let me wake up with half an eye, the other had been devoured.
Trixie’s wild sense of humor seems to amuse other people, other poets even.
They send her fan mail and flowers, one sent her his boxer shorts.
I am the unappreciated Van Gogh of this relationship.
The next one who sends her a gift will receive an ear.

Oozy-gooey marshmallow
Log coated in nuts
Pecan logs are a real treat
But have them with hot
Coffee or cocoa
Magical
Thrill!

Headphones on and humming softly till I know each word
Some are good old friends and some are new ones I just heard
Into the wee hours we go on with this love affair
Or first thing upon waking I will find it waiting there
I am in love with music and I know most every song
Listening to classic rock and singing loud and strong
There are times when blues will take me where I want to be
Close my eyes and let it take me drifting out to sea
Not much of a head-banger but still I like a few
Ballads soothe my savage beast and comfort me it's true
Feeling country I'll put on my Martina or Tim
They don't know but I sing harmony with her and him
Oldies from the fifties make me float across the floor
Seventies and eighties gets me dancing even more
Never want to live without my music that's for sure
Whatever's ailing heart or mind,my music is the cure!

A good life is boring,
and filled with monotony,
Human nature will not allow
us to dwell quietly,
We look for excitement
and contentment in vices
that are bad for us,
Seeking quick fixes to our
lives that may seem dull
and uninteresting,
When, serenity can be a
blessing from the craziness
of the world,
However, we continue
delve into relationships
that are toxic,
Partying till we make ourselves sick
and exhausted from life,
Then we realize there aren't any quick fixes
for what ails us within,
It is better to lead a life that is
reflective and meaningful
as opposed to a mere existence
trying to be the life of the party,
dying to be cool.....
