Tim Timid No Longer

In the misty midst of diabolical centre ground

Timothy vows to replace the endless loops

of mindless regurgitation and rise to the fore

Indigo crescents point to the crown and middle

ground that periphery holds for a place in time

where short cuts and diagonal matter no more

Where is the rainbow he questions himself

when waters have dried with sun eclipsed

by sordid caves and forceful dis-illumination

He strikes a forlorn figure has burnt the candle

at both ends yet wicked wick has found a match

Together they gather the light from contused confusion

Sheltered at their hearth and shivering from darkness

they search and retrieve a firestone of nascent meaning

and glow the colours for themselves to prime the prism

Slowly rain falls again to dry their tears and sores

sun soars to wet their appetite for more adventure

Emerging from a fog of blessings Tim feels whole again

Premium MemberWere Teddy

Not every toy for girl or boy
Is fun to own or share.
One has need of blood for feed --
The snugly, cuddly were-teddy bear.

This beast you see, cute as can be,
With children unaware,
Leaps up to bite necks in the night!
The huggable, lovable were-teddy bear.

Many a child bitten by wild
Rat or raccoon or hare
Today is alive, but fewer survive
The fangs of the sweet-and-dear were-teddy bear.

"Were Teddy" first appeared in
THE BLACK CRUSADER AND OTHER POEMS OF HORROR
(Springfield, Missouri: W. D. Firestone Press, 1979).

Ft Myers

Rare hidden gem in Florida
Home to Thomas Edison,
Harvey Firestone; Henry Ford
America hidden blessing
Golden history landmark Royal Palm Hotel
Where the rich and famous relax
Palm trees sway proudly on Edison Ave
Caloosahatchee River
Where you can go to escape the world
Cry your blues away
City where the tropical savanna at its finest
Enjoy the ocean facing gulf of Mexico
Ride the strip of the beach
Sanibel and Captiva Island
Known for their pearly white sands
Tropical paradise
Take you to another place
Estero a city that motivates
Motivates to dream big
Robert Edward Lee
Lee county
Oh faithful American General
Ft Myers home of snow birds
Soaking up the tropical climate
Soaking up some Ft Myers memories
Memories that last a lifetime

Signs On Lawns

This month needs to be done,
Campaigning everywhere
Romney sucks, Obama number one
The T.V At Firestone is on, I start to stare,
During commercial break politicians have lies to declare
Drama Drama more Drama
No wonder people are mad,
Watching this daily, I'd wake up sad
Signs on lawns,
They make us all feel like chess pawns
At least in the game of life you can pass “go”
Guaranteed payday except for inmates on death row
The celebrities should bind together and buy the country
At least then, we can hear commercials about Bounty

Beheaded Night

what breathe firestone eyes
stepped out
from the shadows of sight
beheaded night

Their Wings Are Silhouettes

facing the
Firestone eyes of
the gray moon
Canadian geese
honk their
horns
retuning
back home
and soon,
their wings
are silhouettes
beating against
the wind
