Here we go again,
dancing in the rain,
feeling rapture rise,
in childlike surprise.
The last time around,
we were in fears drowned
but now we have seen,
soul’s luminous sheen.
In mind-body urn,
earth’s a school to learn,
somewhat like a dream,
where latent thoughts stream.
Now that we know this,
we’ve invoked God’s bliss
and are now carefree,
untied from mind’s tree.

IMPRISONED
Radhika Sanoj
The cloudy apprehensions snarl at us,
The prisoners of a diseased planet..
We are no different nation..
We are alike
White, black, brown..,
All terribly and virtuously alike.
We together creep in fetters,
Leaving Springs behind..
Once we read , "can spring be far....."
Now winter's teeths whiten
Our fragile bones..
Oh my dear, kiss me with a life,
Miracle of a prayer
Driven towards me from heaven...
We all will be released soon,
I hope....

Orpheus
by Michael R. Burch
after William Blake
I.
Many a sun
and many a moon
I walked the earth
and whistled a tune.
I did not whistle
as I worked:
the whistle was my work.
I shirked
nothing I saw
and made a rhyme
to children at play
and hard time.
II.
Among the prisoners
I saw
the leaden manacles
of Law,
the heavy ball and chain,
the quirt.
And yet I whistled
at my work.
III.
Among the children’s
daisy faces
and in the women’s
frowsy laces,
I saw redemption,
and I smiled.
Satanic millers,
unbeguiled,
were swayed by neither girl,
nor child,
nor any God of Love.
Yet mild
I whistled at my work,
and Song
broke out,
ere long.

Unseen fetters bind as chains,
Yoking man to his sin.
Sweat and pain is his legacy,
As were father's before.
From outrage, His cry echoes for justice,
Drowning out Mercy's faint whisper..
There is no hope,
Without realizing that forgiveness is the lock,
And God's grace is the key.
