They must be having a good laugh
Those who left me on the road
Forsaken to the wolves

I didn't see that they were the pack
I didn't see

They must be having a good laugh
Those who decided to exterminate me
One fine morning in June

Emancipated declaration
Fluoridated recreation
Instant retaliation
Photogenic respiration
Instant rice
Incandescent mice

Ratchet termination
Basic mouse droppings
Little boys laughing, girls are screaming
 biological exploration, ratchet termination

His ravenous, remorseless years’ assault.
The rat’s teeth sink. Then halt.

My leg withstands, impervious to fangs of Time.
Acknowledging that rodent is a crime.
The vermin soon is mashed beneath my heel
To grease. There—hearken to his squeal.
