The tragedy is known
the comedy of the non-smile,
and the tragicomic flavor
from the laughter of others...
the comedy exorcises
nerds and frills:
intracutaneous demons
that to the unfortunate
abounds...
the children's movie
raise the ba-a-ba
at the level of a scholarly chair,
and the child's laughter
stiffens muscles
and loose attitudes,
with strong sweetness
and virile tenderness...

Love is unpaid street cleaner
It removes stress from aching hearts
Laughter is fresh summer rain
It brings new life from winter drains
Sleep is sweet voluntary death
It resurrects body from life’s dearth
Mourning is early morning breeze
It drains dirty dew from evening wreak
Exercise is a witch-doctor the healer
It exorcises body from microbe the killer
Good feeding is the military barricade
It barricades body from militant terrorists

This Plant is Not a Drug (Robert Denton, March 2017)
This plant is not a drug,
It is a plant.
You can cut off its flower bud
Then hang it to dry.
When it is dry and brittle
It is ready to use.
It is a medicine plant.
It doesn't cure anything,
Just as all the synthetic man made drugs
Don't cure anything.
But... it was made for us to consume.
It is made by nature and contains the sun.
It causes no harm or evil.
Rather, it is a gift of goodwill.
This plant is not a drug.
It is a herb, like sage,
Designed to help us embrace our God-like image.
Rather than remove us from this planetary prison
Of time and space, of length, width and height,
This plant helps us smile and endure the pain.
In the face of sin and death,
This plant enables holiness and happiness.
This plant exorcises evil.
It promotes peace and kindness.
It fuels a spiritual light
And dissolves darkness.
When unaltered, it is pure and natural and organic.
This plant is not a drug.
