Exed Poems | Examples

An order that isn't

What causes one to feel this way?

lack of control over every emotion, like you’ve fallen from a cliff
out and in goes the air through your lungs as you barely breathe
vexed heart rate – feeling like you’re experiencing arrhythmia
every whisper and flutter is seen, even if it’s just you in the mirror

Don't you know?
You’ve already read the answer.

              You’re So old now
So bold now So told now
So bald now So cold now
So fat now So dead now
So debt now So fret now
So then now So thin now
So can’t now So know now
So what now So when now
So why now So high now
So low now So fast now
So slow now So oh now
So far now So par now
So star now So air now
So fair now So where now
So hair now So care now
So pink now So sink now
So kink now So think now
So stink now So go now
So snow now So flow now
So stop now So drop now
So flop now So Texted now
So flexed not So sexed now
So Exed now So hexed now
So strong now So song now
So send now So end now
               So long now

Valentine’s day supper
Village restaurant booked
Vexed diners! We wait for
Venison steak meals but
Violins screeched out six
Viennese waltzes, the
Very drunk chef is sacked!

This is based on a true experience, with some poetic licence it was my birthday not Valentine day and we were having beef steak not Venison. My husband ordered a starter and main whilst I’d opted a beef main course and dessert. The starter arrived, then we waited and waited but there was no sign of the main course. We asked when the meals would arrive and were told there was a ‘problem in the kitchen’. Then the 2 young waitresses got out violins and tried to entertain us. About an hour later we were given badly cooked meals then offered free desserts which we declined as we just wanted to leave. We later discovered the chef had been very drunk and got sacked and the owner had tried their best to cook the meals. The fact the waitresses had the violins made me suspect it wasn't the first time there had been issues with the chef. Not long afterwards the restaurant closed down.

Els are for loves
Lost count-of: every "ex" and
"Oh" there to show whom
I kissed as I exed them out,
While others left me in awe.

Waiting To Exhale

Through anguish, oppression, suffering and pain,
Frustration, destrucion and all of the shame.
I have lost everything that I I have received;
I must wait on the Lord and continue to believe.

Trying to ruin my reputation and destroy my name;
Yet on them I don't place the blame.
Through all of this grief I am excited to tell;
When the moment arrives that I can exhale.

I'll take a deep breath, I'll breathe deep and slow,
Then I'll blow real hard and watch hell go.
It's out of my life, I have exed-hell out,
And now I am ready for another bout.

To tell a friend or dying soul,
To take a deep breath and get ready to blow.
Say hello Heaven, good by hell;
My moment has arrived that I can exhale...x-hell....exit hell.
