I'll follow you

The train fled through forlorn forests
Emerging on the stormy steppes
It crossed the raging ravine waters
Up the rugged crags it crept.

I was on that midnight journey
Seeking you to join your cause
I felt your honor and your yearning
Your defiance of unjust laws

(chorus)
Your example was the spark
And as long as you stay true
The torch will light up in the dark
And I'll follow you

Through the shadows of the city
I searched each alley, every street
Whispers told of your bravery
How you stood, did not retreat

Near dawn, I finally found you
Eyes aflame with steadfast fire
You said, "The old ways can yet renew"
"To real freedom we shall aspire."

(chorus)
Your example was the spark
And as long as you stay true
The flames will rise within the dark
And I'll follow you

(bridge)
We'll gather the despairing souls
Ignite the hope that once was lost
We'll strive to reach our righteous goals
No matter what the cost

We'll cut the tentacles of the beast
We'll tear the web that entangles all
See the silver sunlight in the east
They will rise, hear freedom's call.

I netted a word today

spritzing in the back of mind,

examined it from angles:

politically, like stars and spangles

rhythmically, like Mr. Bojangles

spiritually, like sin~ the foolish soul
entangles
--------------------------------

Some writes simply
start that way, a little
prick, a piercing needle,

a little sip, then a bigger swig --
from a simple plan with
a hopping step~ to a stomping, glorious
gig! --

A bee of thought
from silent hive astray

a buzzing syllable
with small fanning wings

jolting every colony senator
with shocking, new contagious
temblor

till the whole damn swarm
takes alacritous notice --

the poet begins an inflating rock...

bursting out joyfully~ his pen verse
singing!

Premium MemberBlame

In the garden of our minds, blame takes root,
A toxic seed that nourishes bitter fruit,
It blooms with thorns and poisoned petals,
A vine that entangles and settles.
Like a venomous serpent coiled in the heart,
Blame slithers and coils, tearing the inner self apart,
It whispers in the ear, a voice of contempt,
Sowing seeds of doubt and causing pain.
Like a storm on a moonless night,
Blame strikes like lightning, a fiery light,
It scorches the earth and leaves scars,
A mark of pain that spreads from afar.
Blame is a beast, a ravenous beast,
It devours our peace, a relentless feast,
It prowls in the shadows, a lurking threat,
A hungry predator we can't forget.
But blame is a shadow, a momentary shade,
A ghostly presence that cannot be swayed,
It's a mirror reflecting our own flaws,
A harsh reminder of our own applause.
Uproot blame from our souls, release its grip and take control.

Writer from Within

The less
I move my lips at my 4:00 am Saturday morning sessions
The more
These words are trees standing still beside a racing river

A long way away
Freight train bores the night
Moon without light

Its alto horn
Projects from nowhere entangles everywhere

Uninhibited
By barren maples and icy roads
Abandoned homes and snowdrifts
A shadow walking his dog under planets of street lights
All powerless against the elk’s forlorn cry

The long sigh reaches me in my living room
Like a rope
Or an armored snake
That takes its slithering life with such mangled ease

Iron bolts
Shackles jolt and shudder to the lumber spindles

I have no name but I am story

Clack clack
Clack clack
Clack clack

I count the halved steps of thunder from the mysterious miles
Waning afar

As the Rolling Stones once sang Love is like our music
It’s here and then it’s gone

I am magician
Make things appear and disappear
Conjure things to move
Erase the past and future with Bastami’s ink baton

I am startled back to life

Perfect quiet

Train absent if it ever was.

"It appears to an open mind. The portal into acceptance of reality is there for those with the courage to enter." ~~The Poet~~

Exuding from a dark crevice of my mind.
In retrospect of His omni essence,
There entangles a solace to unwind.

Through a portal to the unknown,
Eons of time reek incandescence.
Realms of my life’s worth, are shown.

Peace beyond dreaming so astute.
Equinox occurring with iridescence.
Stellar galaxies perform on route.

The universe accepts my thought,
Alleviating forms of acquiescence.
Wherein lasting tranquility is sought.

Brain waves clear the celestial portal,
Not claiming a form of quintessence.
The stratosphere recognizes I am mortal.

Song of Victory Over the Flesh: Vol 1, Chapter 1

"Oh, Mr Flesh! Thou art a skilled warrior!
Only the truly truthful and broken soul can discern thy arts."

"Oh, thou most cunning! Cancerous entity!
To whom it is given to escape thee, is accounted most fortunate!"

"Oh pleasant plague! Sweetly, deadly poison!
Many great and mighty, fallen to thy bewitching wiles!"

"Oh malignant tumor! Subtlety at its finest!
Thy cunningly obscure traps entangles the swiftest of feet!"

"Oh beautiful prison! Keeping men in blissful death!
Happy we are for escaping, and happier are we for those who hereafter will!"

Premium MemberSilent Infliction

Silence breeds a droning bunch,
a blackened kettle, a stolen lunch.
The dismal lead while sheep give chase,
a silent echo, a spoofed embrace.

Abandoned youth viewed once again,
a manifest of mice, not men.
Hypocrites now preach the word,
murdered lines and vision blurred.

Despair entangles a shallow light,
disavowed, this tale they write.
A painted faux becomes the rage,
dyed and bleached on every page.

A conjured trick becomes their ruse,
theft and fraud showcase thy muse.
Invisibly, the truth is moot,
concealed in dirt, this hidden root.

Miss Gossip

Miss Gossip
walks down the street
as everybody listens to the beat
of her fancy feet.

Miss Gossip
whistles an infectious tune
which even entangles June
who initially thought she was immune.

Miss Gossip
evidently has a big family
that frequently falls victim to the melody
of its own tragedy.

Premium MemberThe Clearing

The sordid thought thicket thrives
within the dungeon of the dark mind,
where the web of tormenting roots wriggles,
entangles all the escape routes,
as qualm deconstructs life’s forest path.

Unsure frail footsteps falter,
deranged wobbly tread dithers,
the root trap and the abyss wait
for the traveller, worn out of walking long,
going jaded to nowhere in the jungle of life.

The survival struggle starts as shovel of resolve
upturns the security soil, fells the trees,
removes the mesh and the darkness,
the crafted pasture of freedom then
looks up to the sky above the dismal canopy.

Destiny isn’t a pretext, the walk is one’s own walk
through the murky maze of the forlorn forest,
where the insightful impulse carves out
a pasture transforming into the garden of bliss,
the inner vision configures in the clearing.

Caught in a net
Like a spider sees the fly
Caught in a net
That entangles you
When you lie

Caught in a net
Of your deceit and destruction
Caught in a net
Caused by your lies and corruption

Who will hear you
When you scream and shout
All will close their eyes and ears
Of this, there is no doubt.

Most have had enough,
Of your dictatorial ways
It may seem tough
But now it is your time to pay,

Caught in a net
A net of your own making
Caught in a net
That is weak and slowly breaking

Eventually, the net will break,
Because it can no longer hold
The dead weight

The Exorcism

She looks beyond herself
Every chance she gets
Yet he still appears to
The shadows in her soul

She didn’t know evil
Until it touched her
And held her hostage
She feels forgotten

The city weeps not for her
Her family is unreachable
The evil in her soul
Isn’t hers, and was never

She prays for help
O Lord she cries to Him
Please save me for I am lost
I need you to find me

A voice responds and says
Come with me child
Come do this thing
I will walk with you

And she enters into a slumber
Where she shivers and shakes
She quakes and seizes
The evil entangles no more

The Lord smiles as he lets
Her rest and sways her dreams
She sees hope, she feels home
He brought heaven to her

The evil cast out
She is free now
She leaves her home
And never returns

For heaven is on earth
For her to witness
For her to experience
The Lord spake to her

You are saved.

Shine Bright Like the Sun

SHINE BRIGHT LIKE THE SUN

Who sang "shine bright like a diamond"?
Certainly the one whose beauty got us all enamored.
Don't think it shines off sun-rays or at night.
To start off right:
a diamond itself does not shine,
it reflects light and shows off a sign.
The light gives diamond beautiful sparkles
but doesn't twinkle like when stars entangles.
Sip on the 3 reasons for this beautification:
Internal reflection, refraction and dispersion.
In all season, shine bright like the sun.
Even Rihanna's diamond can't be brighter as this one.

The Unlovable Lover Man

I am in love with the one who walks as if the world he ventures is his to take

I am in love with the one who entangles me in his desires and wraps me in his warmth as If his arms were serpents

Who is driven by a force that comes from deep within him

Who loves with passion and takes no caution

The one who can sense my mood from a mile away

Who teases me like a childish game

But always manages to keep me held close
Unable to escape the grip of his intoxicating love

I am in love with a man who knows he will never be in love with me

But yet wants to so badly

The man who can give me everything I have ever wanted

But also take everything I have ever had

I am in love with the man who lights up any room he walks into

Who has eyes like rare Jules

And a smile that melts your heart

Though I have made the grave mistake of choosing him

For I have chosen a man who holds so much love

But whose biggest fear is to give it

So many who desire it

But no true intention to succumb to it

I am in love with the unlovable lover man

Premium MemberWoman In Chains

Here, away from the weight of strain
where domestic thorns are spiked and ripped,
  she entangles her damp hair
then bares frozen sighs, running barefoot
 along softened meadow grounds;

her soul cleansed by moonglow's peace,
forced not to yield to a man's cycle
of incessannt rage, as moist eyes
float with the new moonlight's gentleness
 rendering herself empowered once more

against the hissing of pierced words ,
lesions marked on a slammed body... until
a balmy oak offers a hammock of strength,
while she tries to grasp the truth; aware now
that an alliance quite violent is illusion's bite.

Mindful, she knows she must return home,
to finally unchain herself from the shackles
of his vicious game... it is all over.

A Debt To All

A whim of adventure
With a glint of gray
Enveloped in nature
Is life's capricious way

Fate entangles creation
Curled up in a heap
Crippled by situation
Man takes a leap.

To contend a daily survival
Uncertain of tomorrow
Owing a debt on arrival
All must pay for all borrowed
