Premium MemberDrinking Buddies

OK, I never liked you guys
But now we're drinking buddies
To my great surprise

That giant Texas heat lamp
Brought us together
Because the drought you couldn't weather

I set up bird baths, just not for you
You ran 'em off, and squirrels, too
I was afraid of what you might do

The birds were flighty, the squirrels wily
But you guys stuck together spryly
I admired your intelligence highly

I sensed you'd let me refill the water
As the Texas heat lamp grew ever hotter
No need for the fly swatter

Gentlemen you were as I refilled the drink
You landed on me and tickled me pink
Hmmm, Honey Bees, I need to rethink

Now I've spoiled you with cubes of ice
Cooling the drink to make it nice
Providing a small dose of paradise

I swore you off, but friends I now avow
You like me, too, I sense it somehow
Yes, we're drinking buddies forever now

Honey, I got to go water the bees...

Premium MemberDrinking Beer With Farmer Fred

On my way to use the head,
I ran into Farmer Fred.
Now I’ll be jiggered, and I be dread,
If this isn’t exactly what Fred said.
“Ah, me lad tis time to tinkle.”
“Inevitable consequence of the beer we drinkle.”
“Now hold her steady as you wiz and trickle,
Take a good aim and try not to sprinkle.”
Then as he finished and zipped up his fly,
He gives me the famous Fred wink of the eye.
“Hurry now laddie and empty your bladdie.”
“For a wee more grog, twill make us gladdie.”

What Could Happen When Distancing and Wearing Masks

One woman
Distanced in a row of marked-off stools
Sat sideways
At a bar in the afternoon

Dressed like passing summer sky
Viewed through a window
From a cooled inside

Blue skirt hem
Napkined to her lap
Legs crossed like wind-swept dunes
A smile of salt
Tossed over her shoulder

She fiddles with her diamond ring

Her fingertip a sigh
Tuning
The half empty
Rim of a Margarita

Warbling

To the tall bartender
Who’s drying with a cloth and fingers
The lips to his goblets

A crystal choir whistling back

He’s bored for more of a crowd
Both wishing for tips
Just like old times.

First Time Drinking Leaves Me Sinking

Just one drink and I'd be down
Acting like a foolish clown
Since I've never had a drop
I would stumble, I would plop
Against walls and onto floors
Whacking into hard wood doors
Slurring speech and saying words
That are coming out absurd
Eating and making a mess
BBQ sauce on my dress
Making my friends laugh with glee
At this different side of me
They are glad to be seeing
As I'm getting a warm feeling
Down my leg I can't control
Embarrassed to my very soul
As the group at my friends table
Tells me of their first drunk fable
As we joke and laugh a lot
Ordering another shot
Till we're in our nice warm beds
Safe at home with throbbing heads

Drinking For Fun

me and my bunch
we have lunch
we end we're friend
thats when the party begin
 we're not bums
but for us its lust
we're
DRINKING FOR FUN

Premium MemberDrinking From the Baby Bottle

Holidays come and holidays go, but the grocery store is a war zone.
You got to get there fast… or Honey you’re just plain out of luck!
My diabetic hubby drinks caffeine free diet soda and what luck…
You know the ones he takes to work... Only the little bottles are left…
I knew I was truly sunk when the 3rd store was just the same.
So as lunch came around, my manly man’s manly sized lunch came out.
But everyone became quiet and laughed as the baby sized bottle came out.
Everyone was laughing as my hubby drank it down.
Then he held it up and said “In your diapers” as everyone laughed around.
And to everyone’s surprise he pulled another one out from his lunch…
This time there was applause as he drank that sucker down.
Today was his day to entertain.
Tomorrow it’ll be someone else’s to claim.
Thank goodness his sense of humor… is worthy of acclaim…

The Drinking Poem

The Drinking Poem

(the drinking poem)Sad Turns Glad
Some depression before breakfast is hard for me to ignore
The heart so used to alcohol to even up the score
The brain desiring numbing to underscore the pain
The turpitude of limitless happenings designed to cause a man to drink
The itch and triggers gone eye live between the tempt
My happiness is missing me she has so much to do
When my love has come to me and reassured my fate
Then my sadness turns to happiness this date
My sad will turn to glad when ewe
have come
