SHATTERED MEMORIES
The tears begin to fall
as I started walking down the hall,
I soon started thinking of you,-
No, I’m not confused.
They say love hurts
I guess it must be true,-
deep within my heart
He left his marks.
I’m shattered
because of the battering,
He has no excuse,-
for the abuse.
I would see the writing on the wall
as I started walking down the hall,
I have seen my old bedroom,
where the memories are so very dark,
there goes my heart.
I stood so alone,
as the tears filled my eyes,
It was midnight,
the ancient clock striking the hour.
the moon gave a dimer glow,
upon on the snow,
Oh, those memories,-
that keeps making their way back to me.

Fools Will Forget?
Fools will forget where ever they were
Also, anything else that may occur
What they had said while in a crowd
Even if quietly said or really out loud.
They also forgot every historical fact
And much of a memory always lacked
Their own name they did not remember
Thought first month of year was December.
Never know what was a nickel and dimer
And were known to think that Alzheimer
Was game show that they played on TV
About discovering location of the Deity.
Thought heaven was a one way street
And only idiots you were liable to meet
Occasionally to a judge singing a song
Why would I go the way that was wrong?
After he had had a head on collision
He decided to finally make a decision
After he had obtained God's consent
He went and would run for President.
World has not been the same ever since
Truth of it all there was a consequence
When in doubt and for President run
Remember, it is not a whole lot of fun.
James Thomas Horn
Retired Veteran and Poet
Do you think some previous Presidents
would agree with me on this one?

Losing herself
Her heart is pounding,
with nothing inside,
hands are crendging,
holding her confide,
life is breaking,
soul trying to hide,
the love that was singing,
is dead inside.
Smile becoming dimer,
face starting to gray,
no longer this winner,
that she use to portray,
friends becoming thinner,
with no words to say,
no longer this winner,
that she used to portray.
Pain after pain leads to shame,
the words are lost to the song that she sang,
seeing herself as a sinner she loses her name,
can't feel the joy she felt inside her that rang,
no longer this winner,
that she use to portray.
