In the middle of the night
When everything is still
I awoke to hear a tapping noise
On the window sill
Tap, Tap, Tap
And tapping once again
I cowered under my eiderdown,
Hoping it was the sound of rain.
My imagination
Was running riot
Who expects visitors
In the middle of the night?
Can it be the Grim Reaper?
Checking up on me
Who could hear my heavy breathing?
And visited me to see
If it was time for the collection
Of another soul
Perhaps his nightly selection
Needed to reach a goal.
I was cold
Shivering and shaking
I wanted to be bold
But that was too big an undertaking,
Help me, please,
Where did that word come from,
Please don't tease
I'm not feeling fit and strong
I'm getting weaker
And this night goes on and on.
Praying that Grim Reaper
He has got tired of waiting and gone.
My heart has stopped pounding,
My breathing is steady
I feel warmer
And my eyes feel heavy.
Where am I?
I'm lying cosily in bed,
Oh, thank goodness
I must have dreamt that I was dead.

Icy winter storms swirl
within the clouded night,
wailing winds howl,
gales rage, and slushy sleet
freezes the ground.
Will the dawn turn red?
Chances you'll never know
as you're snuggled cosily
under thick downy quilts and covers,
dreaming the crystalline snows away.
You cuddle snugly up towards me
stealing my warmth away.
I feel such euphoric happiness,
your closeness a comfortable bliss.
Soon sleep claims our consciousness.
Do you dream pleasantly of me?
Or is your mind on something else?
Yet I will not relinquish easily
the intense fantasies of our love
that ages like a vintage wine,
the colours that enrich our existence,
the love that enhance our being,
the memories that make us what we are.
That is the picture in my mind:
I will never give it up.

Snuggled cosily in a blanket of love
Eyes tightly shut, listening to above
Where the robin chirps his merry song
Guarding his garden from the throng
I hummm a merry tune
Strings of violins pass through my mind
Mournfully and sad .....as if to remind
me of days of yore when love was great
How did that feeling turn to hate
I hummm a soulful tune
Sun is setting here to shine elsewhere
Reminds me of how I still care
for life, for love ...it's music fills my soul
I close my eyes to slumber, to recall,
hummming a sleepy tune

Sleep over board and keep the coffee table messy
Jump crazy for your silly dressing
Hold my hands when u get nervous
Lying on to the chest.... feel for those ending days
Cosily lean on to me whenever you are upset
Occasionally cook those fantastic dishes
Keep questioning me how much I love you
Ascertain that something lost is with me . . .only to repent later with a smile
Get in to all arguments and never give up
It’s to share the hardship.. and loving to do so is true love !
Whatever it takes... will love you forever...
Happy B’day to my little life called wife ! ! !

GLOVE LOVE
Their old teacher sitting waiting,
Twenty kids come in the classroom:
Most dash past to the computer or playtoys.
A skeletal six year old girl,
Neglected-looking, with glasses,
Throws arms around his neck
And slips on to his knee.
His big gnarled hands
Fold over her,
Fitting cosily as a glove
And her tiny bony hands
Rest easy on his knuckles.
No words are spoken;
But it’s a good morning.

was so upset and mixed up
the web of emotions so complex
my heart sobbed and tears dried
my mind numbed and pretty well froze
I was aimless and anchorless wandering
feeling down and out and at a future bleak
you came in like fresh breeze scented and cool
you held me soft cradeled and cosily warm and safe
I squirmed for warmth and you blew in a hot ballast
warming me so well and comfortable in al pores and ways
you spew love that overflowed thoug you were so unsure
I grabbed all that you strew in my direction like an orphan
and continued the genrous take
till one fine day I heard and saw
for sure and dead sure
that you had come
from a hurt
recent
a bad one and so curt.
I adore the rebuilding energy that you possess...you regenerated mine and we are
resurrected.
