Upon that day, I walked away, From my home, I couldn't stay. Past the heap of what remained, Too much loss, my heart in pain.
Cast aside, no choice had I, What once was mine, now left to die. Wandering day by day, alone, Seeking anew a place unknown.
Seasons passed, the years went by, Hoping for bread, a place to lie. In winter's cold, now warm I stand, Thinking of those without a hand.
Who know not food for many days, With threadbare clothes in disarray. Resting heads on arms so thin, A box to live, a dream within.
So little I can do, it seems, But to give what little means. I remember, once like them, When gifts of mine were treasures, then.

In the arms that love me
To the place that truly cares
Who is always there for me
Has seen my soul torn bare
Who smoothes the worlds serrations
And salves the heavy heart
My friend, lover and confidant
Oscar winner in every part
Though we drive each other crazy
It’s the spaces in between
The mortar between my bricks
My copilot and my Queen

When you have real feelings for someone let them know
Time to open up more and allow your relationship to grow
When that special someone has brought a lot of joy into your life
Show her with your actions and words and add a little spice
Time waits for nobody, so tell her how much she brightens up your day, like the morning sun
Shower her with love, making every moment with her that you share a whole lot of fun
Make her feel special in all sorts of creative ways
A path to a beautiful relationship can be paved by the thoughtful gestures you portray
When every time you see her butterflies leave your stomach and surround your heart
You know that you have found your copilot for life and don't want to be apart
Life is a journey that should be shared with that special person
When all you can think about day and night is her, you have truly found that special one

I kiss your risks
Cheerfully without singled
One out in asterisk
As we romantically mingled
I play your ball
Joyfully on an away pitch
Yet, you never reject any of my calls
Or dramatically snub me for the rich.
I fly your flight
Emotionally without copilot
Despite the watcher's awful fright
Quietly watching to act like Pilate
Pure happiness rents my cheek
Whenever you come around
Bathing in your graceful creek
To energize the pale smiles joy abounds
The password I decode
Remains unexplored
Till morrow outmode
My ever gallant warlord
Truly, love changed me
Trying out the best logic
Tracking details about our wee
Most of which are on academic
My attitudes are dying
Of thy presence in loneliness
Your gratitude are spying
My fortitude in weariness
Master of my mind
Your absence gets it blind
As the queen of your heart
This poem pens you an everlasting art

The pilot closed the door.
Taking a brief moment to look around.
Patting himself down opening the door then closing it back hesitantly.
He walked past the vacant seats, inviting himself to the copilot seat in the cockpit.
He leaned his head back, observing the silence that surrounded.
Staring off into the clouds.
His back seeped into comfort. Sliding down a bit further.
His knees touching the dashboard to the controls.
He searched the sky. The chair becoming a more enticing place to catch a Z or two.
The plane landed about half an hour ago.
Still he sat. Constantly opening then closing the door.
Feeling the breeze of air pass across his face.
Stretching his legs from being cramped in a tight compartment for so long.
Watching the other planes come and go.
The constant flicker of port side reflecting off his face.
How easy it seems to go home.
Continuing to nod off into a deep sleep.
Listening to the other planes sail off into the distance.
The luxury of dreams

Sometimes I feel like a castaway;
My sails and rudder in disarray-
A derelict floating past Cathay-
Then marooned on a shoal.
Other times I feel like a stowaway,
Secreted in some musty hideaway,
Watching the world change day by day
From a filthy porthole.
Sometimes I feel like a runaway.
All my pride’s been sanded away;
Hustling for food and somewhere to stay-
Some dark and dank bolt hole.
Other times I feel like I’ve gone astray,
That the best of me’s eroding away.
Dissipating misty yesterday
What’s left of my soul.
(Chorus)
I’d probably feel this way all the time,
If I didn’t come home with you.
Mornings would start with no sunshine,
If I didn’t wake up with you.
All the world’s imperfections,
Objections, and rejections,
Would drown me in dejection
If you weren’t the Copilot of my crew.
There've been time I've felt like I've gone astray.
Each tomorrow's still another day.
I still have time to change my way
To once more feel whole.
I don't have to be a runaway,
A castaway or a stowaway.
With your help I can find my way
And re-find my soul.

The Stewardess’ Startling Questions
By Elton Camp
Safety procedures she will mention
Few, if any, pay very much attention
They are interested in taking a nap
Or using the computer in their lap
One day, the stewardess was taken aback
Because the captain had a heart attack
He groaned and slumped in his seat
She could barely hear his heartbeat
There was no copilot on that flight
So she gasped in horror at the sight
To passengers she said, “Attention please”
The words she next spoke are these:
Is anyone CPR trained to try
Or any who an airplane can fly?
In stunned silence passengers sat
For all had given heed to that

A Pilot Needed in the Cockpit
By Elton Camp
In movies, pilot and copilot conk out
But always, a half-way pilot is about
But not for many years has he flown
Perhaps in the air force he was shown
Or maybe he was the cause of a crash
And thinks as a pilot he is just trash
He’ll protest his incompetence a while
But lands the plane when under trial
But if that situation should really arise,
Would such a person be in the skies?
If not, then whatever would they do
Since trained folks are actually few?
Instead of ending safely on the ground,
It’s most likely none would stay around
The plane would probably go into a dive
Not a single person would remain alive

Lord,bless me this day,
As I drive down this lonely highway.
Bless my family at home all alone,
Let me return where ever I roam.
If you feel it's my time to sleep,
Please take me quick and not let my family weep.
Keep my eyes open, keep my prayers in mind,
Keep my heart clean and let me always be kind.
Be my copilot in my time of need,
Remind me of who I am in my times of greed.
This is my prayer when I am on the road,
That I should return from every load.

(This is a fictional poem)
I decided to fly planes for a living.
I learned that there a lot of people who are unforgiving.
At pilot school the tests were hard so I cheated.
People beat the crap out of me and a doctor was what I needed.
When I flew my one and only flight for Delta Airlines, I had to admit that I didn't
know how to land the plane.
I got my ___ kicked so many times that I take pills to dull the pain.
I told the copilot to land the plane but he said he cheated too.
People began to panic but then a kid figured out what to do.
This ten year old boy landed the plane and everyone was relieved.
Now I'm ashamed to admit that a ten year old is smarter than me.
