Lined face and hands of leather
Her body punished by blazing-hot weather
She'd worked the fields for 50-plus years
Her energy drained, along with the swamps
~For the kibbutz whose ideals she held so dear...
Shopworn and spent in her shapeless frock
Offered a menial job in a kitchen smock
She volunteered to teach immigrants Hebrew instead
The time had come to depend on her mind, she said...
Her classroom had no board, just tables and chairs
Nor was there a breath of fresh air in there
The temperature outside nearly one-hundred ten
Inside just two fans --Can you imagine?
Yet she taught us to converse from the very first
In just a month, we could handle most situations
We could shop for clothes and order food too
Buy tickets for a ride on the bus or in the train station
She taught most of us to speak Hebrew fluently
Her lessons with our objectives meshed congruently
Her name was Tsiporah; it means 'a sweet bird'
Her language teaching the sweetest music we'd ever heard

This is a free exclamation
Of what I desire to become
In full examination
I see the world, I get some
Wishing for things to happen
Doesn’t work as planned
I must do the trials to sharpen
My wits, so I can demand
A way to the top, calmly free
I’ll reach there eventually
To be at that level…I will see
What can be produced massively
Incredible what I can do
When I put my mind into it
With no help to see me through
I’m on my own, a perfect fit
I see the top, it’s right before me
I just need a little push forward
I see that if others assist congruently
I’ll make it, and I’ll move onward

The dance commences, I retreat a step
Shattered from archaic engulfing patterns
You cha cha your storm forward in
Swirls of ancient abandonment and as
I skip back another, gasping for sufficient safety from suffocation,
You unfurl your blitz clawing the lioness’ leash
You decipher my terror and it emboldens your raging compulsion
Which suspends our inner children in connected cocoons and yet somehow
We cant reach each other as we intermingle desperately
It makes us stoic, empty and musically atrophied but
At a closer distance, oxygen less and congruently alone
And it sits frog like, stale and poisonous between us and still
The spire flattens and petrifies our reflections powered by a
Stalemate which devours our fragile humanity with a timid jocularity

Oh how I do wish our stances were changed.
Where we could go otherwise,
I have never met a kindred soul as such.
Our dreams align in the heavens.
The stead we could create,
a complete life,
both longing for the same.
We travel the road congruently,
opposing detours.
Does our destination coalesce?
Will our village arise from the mist?

Flirty feisty fists pummelled pretty parts of her bare skinned body,
Lovers long lost in eyes the size of lies, decisive ties of their unwise love,
Hector hatching heat, his aching heart searching for a hopeless home,
Saw so silently the cynical smile of his partner's palpitant part,
Her smoothed skinned slender body congruently curved into his,
Their bellowing breaths singing soothing songs to earless walls,
Both similarly stuck in a soporific frame of time, slowly sinking down to truth,
Angrily aware of the love they'd never share, the happy lovers brooded,
Shamefully,
The loathing lovers hid under covers, rovers of love that met meticulously,
As fate would have it, Cupid rapidly read through, mixing up numerous names,
Hector fell in love with a woman, he knew he could never have

Said Jonson, vulgar rhyme a petty crime
Swindling paupers begging fleeting stime
Opined syllabic compress from simple mimes
Which o'er lazy, temporal lobes did climb
Simple, jingoistic rhythms to prime
A crutch to prop up ailing metric time
Yet, Nature's species exist in kind
Mutated limbs rarely another tract find
Elliptical, redundant patterns planets bind
To their orderly, repetitive cadence resigned
Weather systems to each season assigned
Subsistence and providence congruently aligned
Catchy rhymes are not mongrel flem
Syllabic stress each base line does hem
Its melodic sound caresses the requiem
The ballast that holds each leaf to stem
Glossy makeup that bastes face so prim
Crown jewel of every verse, syntactical diadem

Within the whorl of
cacophony and ecstasy
dances a vision of clarity
beyond me and my spree
of biting hilarity often
just out of reach.
The daggers of scrutiny
shall no longer decree
this singularity; my knee
bends congruently to thee
for opening me to see
bliss beneath harm.
Roads stretch before me
with threads of destiny
undulating like the sea,
your comfort setting free
the flotsam and debris
choking my rudder.
For once, I must agree
to marvel at the mystery
delivering upon my plea
with such authority
that vivid yet soft jubilee
in your gilded eyes.
