I'd heard one day 'about the light'
UK independant paper circulating
By day and night
I'm going to get me; a copy to see
How well it reads.. Is its editor free?
To discuss and discourse?
Now that should par for the course.'
Yet the path has been beaten
By those hell bent on disreason
Moguls of mayhem,
Till some; people are too numb;
To gainsay their dark hum-dum
Maybe I'll read of freedom and living?
Where the hokey cokey; comes easy?
Easier than sunbeams, on rooftops
When you're all fatigued with sad headlines
Turn a page, I'm willing for revelation
To hold the balance of true reason; in nations.'

NO GRANDMA, THEY’RE NOT DANCING
Put your left one in
And don’t take it out -
In out, in out, shake it till you shout:
That’s what it’s all about.
“No, not the hokey-cokey, No, not. . . . ”

A birthday present to my Gramps, Hugh McCorkidale Young.
Heaven has a place for you
Unswaying was your faith in such
Goodness always will shine through
Holding on to that has been my crutch
Many others knew you well
Cokey, heard of through the town
Countless tales they had to tell
Of all the men, you held the crown
Real though it is, it's hard to believe
Know as I do the ways of the world
In the fact that you could ever leave
Darkening my mind till my thoughts unfurled
Aloud, I cannot bring to bear
Lonely I must hold my heart
Even by myself I fear
Your absence will tear me apart
Onwards though the world must move
Unendingly your memory will stay
No-one has forgotten you
Gone though you are, you'll never fade.
