Premium MemberJealousy Creates a Mess

Turquoise chalice was terrified that she was not as curvy
As the fade- out banana who had a touch of scurvy
Clothes pin cousin laughed at the chalice's distress
Lightbulb filament rolled his eyes at this jealous mess
Screwdriver did not have anything much to say
Lockset said “I’ll come back another day”.
Cork found himself surrounded by disturbed items now.
He waddled off, looking for a piggy bank or a snowplow.

Premium MemberOf Mountain Things

Baptized in the eddies of shimmering creeks
passages are crossed far beyond what's seen
clothes pin dolls donning hand sewn clothes
souls made of papyrus ,hearts carved in oak
mountain folk know things that you'll never know

A few stay forever and others stray for "things"
hymns on gilded meadows -a vow to never leave
the sun offers heartbeat to all wayward beings
but she's a fiery star riding razor bladed dreams

One day she took off down the lower path
a clothes pin doll slipping gently from her hand
fleeing salvation mountain, never looking back
a daisy chain lay where her heart once bled

Another red eyed sunrise, eve taps stiletto black
she's a wingless pigeon cooing for the misty past
at the end of asphalt rainbows, a mirror full of cracks
a million pricks ago the starry dream simply collapsed-

In concrete hearts, there's little shade for peace
from which a mountain soul can gracefully retreat
with a rustle of leaves she's finally called back home
psalms sprinkled over ashen dreams of feral ghosts
mountain folk know things that you'll never know.

Many and Various

Many and Various

In life, positions may be many and various;
If a politician probably, presume precarious;
Clothes pin;
Pretty thin,
Started using while playing my Stradivarius.

Young People and Computers

What us the matter with the young people of today? Could it be computers?
Stop and think, everything involving young people today has to involve MICRO CHIPS!
things were far different when I was coming along. A street light meant get your ads home right now. We had friends we saw face to face and played every day. Made a sling shot out of tied and stretched rubber bands. Played half rubber, or what the northern states call stick ball, checkers, or maybe chess, monopoly, Risk. Take baseball card and clothes pin and do the back of a bicycle, man you thought you was evel kneivel......these days if if ain't a cell phone or microchips or texting some other kid half way around the world kids don't dig it....I worry....what will the next generation of townspeople have for " their thing" God only knows, and I don't want to."

May Day

May Day

open my book

and just take a look.

first page

the trees go from winter and are bare

to big pink and white buds

popping out everywhere

it will make you take a step back

and stare.

May day

second page

oh the grass it will turn so

nice and green

and we all hate to get our lawn mowers

out and start cutting the grass

you all know what I mean?

May Day

third page

casting out my first line

while trying to catch a big cat fish

with a smile from ear to ear

going fishing is the best

this time of year.

May Day

fourth page

hanging my bed quilt and sheets

out on the clothes line

clipping the clothes pin

and praying they hold this time.

Can you smell that lilac bush

spring has arrived right on time.

May Day

fifth page

and the last of my short book

digging out my flower bed

just look at the dirt on my hands

lots of flowers growing always looks

beautiful all over my land.

next up I have a garden to plan
