The icy year softly approaches its end,
A cute Christmas card to all friends will be sent.
High Street is decorated with festive lights.
High-class shops and houses hang bright stars all nights.
Past woes are forgotten, all carollers sing.
Children want toys, Madame wants a diamond ring.
In the large roundabout, a large Christmas tree
Sheds twinkling colourful bulbs, and all is glee.

Snowflakes kiss their wings~
Yuletide fairies spin on pine,
laughing silver light.
One whispers in my cupped hands:
Winter's magic is your breath.
just something light and whimsical for your yuletide enjoyment....

Midnight dusted
with frostbite whispers,
they come~
small thieves of warmth,
pocketing embers
from fires left untended.
They take:
a ribbon,
half a gingerbread man,
the last sigh
of a dying candle.
They leave behind:
the faint ache of
almost-remembered
laughter,
the sense
you are not quite alone
in the long,
bright yuletide dark.
Cheerful yuletide to appear soon :
Waiting eagerly for visit
of my daughter and granddaughter,
staying abroad : My sweetest guests !
Only charm and attraction left
in last phase of my lone life.
My time is up with long past, short future.
Their quality time will boost me up.

Yuletide bells chime~
frost-kissed air hums silver echoes,
a hymn spun in ice.
Deep beneath the muffled snow,
roots dream of resurrection.

Acts of Service
Some say that Christmas now wanders lost
Yet, I see a callous world remember
Neighbors, friends, in sweet homemade thank you cards
I see this world stretch loving hands
To those wearing rags, facing empty shelves,
They bring the Magi's gift to poverty
And make sure children have gifts by the tree
A world of aching feet asks no thank you
As they spread the Christ child's gift of joy.
Upon the atheist rests the weighty task
To show all knowledge stands on mortal ground
Can nature’s uniformity unmask
Or logic’s laws in reason’s courts be found?
And absent from God, such footing seems unsure
For concepts fade, absolutes ‘came obscure
Now, Santa Claus, in a cheerful mythical fray
Will liken faith in God to flights on a sleigh
But transcendental truth is not a game
Nor matter or motion, or bound to a Yuletide frame
God’s attributes no creature may possess
Omniscience alone is God’s mindset
Thus, by what is revealed, we clearly see
Reality conforms to His decree
Santa’s lore can’t rival what is afore told
For only God holds wisdom’s keys of old
So, in this search for truth, let hearts be wise
No creature takes God’s place because God decries
Christmastime
is a season sublime
that starts long before that holy day.
We must shop, decorate, and cook. If we delay
too long, plans could go awry. We take time to pray
we won’t lose sight of what CHRISTmas means.
We love reds, golds, and greens—
Yuletide scenes.

Midnight, and a single squirrel
with tiny boots and a postal satchel
scurries across power lines—
Santa’s freelance contractor,
paid in acorns and stale fruitcake.
He leaves a walnut for the widow,
a pinecone stuffed with stolen glitter,
and vanishes, tail twitching,
into the frozen yuletide hush.
I adore the snow globe from Santa Clause
Left in my stocking on the chimney wall
I love the snow storm made when it’s shaken
And the scene inside that does awaken.
There are skaters dancing on frozen ice
Wrapped up warm, having the time of their life
Church bells welcoming folk to come inside
To celebrate the wonders of Yuletide.
With each move I made, my snowglobe moved too
Without it I’d be sorrowful, It’s true
It has pride of place, on a shelf safe it’s sat
I shake it often, it brings that Christmas back.
My snow globe is made of plastic, not glass
But is the nicest gift I ever had
Had it over seventy years in all
Still my snow globe never fails to enthral.

yuletide miracles
I am a cheery festive Christmas tree
No surprise, folk truly do adore me
They decorate me with baubles and lights
I fill kiddies hearts with yuletide delights
They relish the chocolate money bags
Love the angels dressed in sparkly glad rags
They'll sing carols around me, it's such fun
Life as a Christmas tree is never glum
I'm blessed to be part of the holy joy
Bringing memories to each girl and boy.
Holiday celebrations now start
As Christmas carols chime with delight
Marking long yuletide thanksgiving feast
That vanquishes dearth's attack…
Yes, our family yearns for reunion-bliss
Blest with God's love until New Year comes.
When the warm nutmeg spirit of generosity
moves you year round,
a Mrs. Claus heart fills your smile.
It's a Christmas kind of love on
any given day,
it has you singing, "Joy to the World,"
with your Yuletide soul soaring
pool side in the middle of July.
It's a Christmas kind of love
throughout your life. ~
Holiday Acrostic
Holiday joy, may it always remain to be yours!
Old-fashioned, fun-loving, cuddly, sleigh-ride tours.
Lots of hot apple cider, in mugs filled with happiness to drink!
It's the most holy birthday of The Christ Child!
Do attend Church, do be meek and mild.
Anticipate, family and dearest friends, at your door.
Yuletide greetings, be yours~Christmas is just around the bend!
