The best in me

The best in me
I am a loving and
Caring person
Also, I don’t live alone
Here on earth
I live together here
On earth
With my friends
Also my friends
Are also Christians
Just like me
Also, they always pray
For my father
In their prayer
They ask God
To give them some health
And peace in their lives
Because they no longer
Have good health
They also have now
Celiac
That is a terrible disease
They are also limited
To the things they can eat
Father, I am always praying
To you
And in my prayer, I ask
Him to bring the sun early tomorrow
Because I just love the sun
Also friends it is now Summer here on earth
Yes friends thank god the Winter is over
For now
Friends, I must tell you that I never got used
To the Winter
Also, I don’t like the Winter friends
Because it is very long
And also friends we don’t get any sun
During the winter
We only get the horrible grey sky
The grey sky is also very depressing
For me friends
Also, it puts me to sleep
I can’t go back to sleep now
Or I won’t sleep at night
So I keep awake
And I also find it very hard to keep wake
Because the grey sky puts me to sleep

The Best Meal of My Life

Writing.com daily dew drop prompt write a food poem

the best meals of my life
has always been what my wife
cooks up for me every night

she is a genius in the kitchen
always making something great
from the simplest ingredients

Because she came down with celiac disease
she could only eat
what she prepared from scratch
and so she was forced
to give up all processed foods

and in the process she became
the greatest cook
in the universe

I wait with baited breath
to taste the great food
that she creates for me

on lunar new years
she threw out her lumbar disk
and we were forced to stay home
just as the corona pandemic
swept across the world

if we had traveled
we would have contracted
the dreaded corona virus

and we were forced
to stay at home
and she took advantage
of staying at home
to try new dishes
every single day

I recall the Korean proverb
saeyeong jima
as her misfortune
turned into fortune
and once again
she saved me life

I am the luckiest man in life
the best fed man of all I know
due to the cooking skills of my wife

Nothing Verse

Night was not worth
selling the womb. Biological warheads
were sufficient to take on
the gender eugenesis.
People were busy again, in worshipping
the archaic weapons.

What is holding them together?
The fear of extinction? Or the celiac trauma
depriving them of all the healthy nutrients.
The warrior is dead, only his long nose
is still smelling the foul odors
of hate and strife.

The beetles are coming and the caterpillars,
swarming over the beds. Where will you
sleep now? And beyond was the life wasted,
and darkness. On mantel are standing
the empty frames of future, trying
to hold the lava, back and forth.

Mother's Day Poem- Carolyns Sonnet

Beauteous mother earth
You have followed the tradition
Mother that hath given birth
Raising us well was your ambition
Holding my hand through the hardest of transitions

Loving lady
Sleepless nights we made unnerving
some of our escapades taht seem shady
For all the love and care, we are undesrving

Compassion
As a suit of armour it is your fashion

In wild unknown country, y ouve reaped and sown
Working to the bone
A farmer
Nurturing this disastrous weed into a flower

Memories of the past
Cut knees, celiac disease, screaming please
Although I do grow fast
No matter my age
In my continuous book of my life
Words of wisdom you shared are imprinted on the pages
How to be strong in a world full of strife
