OVER THE INFLUENCE

My lungs fill as I inhale the smoky haze of the September breeze.
Overcast skies stare down on me until the guilt drenches my bones.
A puppet to the pressures of most I cannot control, gnawing at my ears until the only thing I hear is the deafening sound of my own thoughts.
I no longer wish to

Canada’s gnarliest tree
royalty in Port Renfrew
named Avatar Grove
a giant red cedar
ten- foot diameter
people are raising money to keep her safe from logger’s saws
so far, she remains in danger

The Answer's A lemming

There are those who think the masses
are like a legion of lemmings
doing a death march into the sea
(actually a river)
but suicidal lemmings are a myth
created by none other than Walt Disney
in Alberta, Canada where
(no lemmings live)
the 1958 film 'White Wilderness' was made
and the sordid scandalous scene
by the filmmakers was staged
spinning turntables were constructed
all covered

Canada is my home

Canada is my home
And I am proud to live in Canada
I have been living living in Canada
For 45 years
Also I have friends
That are also Canadian
And Canada is a country that is not in war
We have peace keepers
That are fighting over seas
To work towards peace

We Are One

Red and white glory freely flies
Mapleleaf, strong and proud, framed by bright blue skies
From glacier fjord to mountain stream
Over fields of gold and trees of green
Nothing is more beautiful to see
Than that red maple leaf flying free

The simple flag is our greatest treasure,
Heralding a nation beyond measure
There is nothing I would rather be
than an honored

Always said my country was free . . .
no wars, no hate, from sea to sea;
and now under attack we will not fail.
My Canada is not for sale !

I fear for the future of us . . .
there is a

Premium MemberO'Eleventh Province

Shall our neighbor to the Great White North
become our fifty-first state?
To be proudly crowned their eleventh province might prove a better fate
Fresh air, clear lakes and grand vistas not to be beat
Maro-O-largo/Maple Leaf Hotel would make such a grand winter retreat
Call me a Tory turncoat if you must and I'll heartily agree
Oh Canada, my

When you ask me who I am

When you ask me who I am,
I can not be sure what to say.
Am I a savage woman?
My answer might dismay.
Do I know what family is?
It is surely hard to say.

You see,
Not too long ago in this country of the strong and free,
My people had their freedom taken
and it has long since wore it’s effect

Canada
True North, strong, free
a land of beauty
prosperity, riches
subservient to no one
welcoming to just...everyone
but please don't mistake our kindness

Hey neighbor, it's a quandrum, eh?
In school your flag was on display.
Sang your song before games and play.
Visited B.C. on field trip day.
O Canada what can I say?
How can we treat a friend this way?

Premium MemberCanada the Beautiful

I was born to grand mountains high,
sky of blue and clouds drifting by;
to walk and seek a flawless view,
through woods I find birds of bright blue.
It is my passion . . . I admit,
sunlit wilderness to moonlit;
alpine meadows and trails that twine,
supine moments blissful . . . divine.

"From sea to sea to sea"

I love my Canada and I am proud to be a Canadian
and share this county with the Aboriginals, French, English
Irish and many other nationalities that create
the intricate tapestry of Canada
a vast rugged beautiful land with wonderful amazing wildlife
a rich varied country with cosmopolitian cities
snow-capped majestic mountains, valleys, boreal
