Meddlesome Maddie liked to invade and intrude
A busybody with plenty of well-earned solitude
She tried to stick her spoon in her new neighbor’s biz.
He stopped her right away, and he was no kind of wiz.
Buttercup Busybody’s behaviors burst beyond belief
Big, buxom, busty, she gave her dour daddy grief
Hosted Hamburger Harry’s Hoedown which featured beef
Eloped with Eddie Eardale, giving her parents some relief.
busybodies might help catch criminals
if they write down every type of car and license plate
parked on their block and the blocks around their blocks
it would be helpful too if they jotted down the drivers descriptions
they could then be elevated from arm chair detectives….
to real detectives.
I would be the first in line
if I had any neighbors
which I do not.
None close anyway
Unsolicited advice
against its storm I brace
Showing no fear or shame
as they get up in my face
In other words ...
They tell me to zig
when I'm zagging
"Hurry up man!"
when I'm lagging
"That's not the way
I'd do it!" they opine
"Better listen to me,
get to it!" every time
Hmm, if that's true
then I'll know
just what to do
when I am you!
More precisely ...
When I do what you say
in my own peculiar way
You stand
beaming with pride
taking credit
If I dare to complain
you declare me insane
then expose me to
ridicule on Reddit
(You don't regret it—
there, I've said it!)
Now I had my say
what will you do?

not misconstrue
"We just told you
the best way to go
You must listen to us
don’t you know?”

then I'll know
just what to do
when I am you!
As odd as that sounds
it must be true
I'll be doing sooo much better
when I am you!
My next door neighbor
is a busybody
obsessed about
butting into your life
whether you like it or not...
He talks without speaking
hears without listening
I am not one for long walks
unless he were to take one off a short pier...
Perhaps he lives
in a most shallow place
addicted to gossip
especially if it is about you..
He is a nosy busybody
making things worse than they really are
one of those infectious people
who does research on the cause...
I have always promised myself
never to get involved as such
doing reading about this so called disease
maybe by talking about him I have become infected...
