Some have noticed old Jack is less kookie
My reputation is at stake, will return to things goofy
Like the word “bumfuzzle”
“To confuse and to puzzle”
But way back then us dudes were all loopy

Confused, consternated, discombobulated, bumfuzzle woman girl
What has happened to make you so contorted and distorted?
Your knees are pointing out your upside down backwards face, if you ask me.

I have a strange malady
curiously effecting me
for I am very susceptible
to words of a variety
Words like cushlamachree
or hobbledehoy
give me such joy...
that my brain begins burbling
at a fantastic rate
things like bamboozle, bumfuzzle
blatteroon, and bombinate!
Bogged down in boondoggled
bedraggled, beware
I'm not making sense
and I really don't care!
Gushing galoot, galumph, galore
something inside crying
I'm an insatiable verbavore!
Flippantly tripping through
flibbertigibbet, flumadiddle
filipendulous to the stupendous
sounds of mellifluous eutony
I am getting so tongue-tied here
my mouth is in mutiny!
But, oh my Dearie-
there's whigmaleerie
wifty, whimsical...
mugwump, moppet
words keep wheeling through my head
'though silly, I can't stop it!
For there's slubberdegullion
mollycoddle, hobgoblin
and gumption, too!
With all the splendiferous words about...
what's a logoleptic to do?

The gnu in the crew
Didn’t know what to do
He was feeling a wee bit bumfuzzle
For the bear in the middle
Spoke pure taradiddle
And he was just part of the puzzle
He called out “gardyloo
Yes, I’m talking to you
You’ve turned us about widdershims”
Then he heard billingsgate
From another shipmate
With language not found in church hymns
Now he felt gollywobbles
From all of their squabbles
And wanted to set the crew straight
“We must turn cattywampus
And follow the compass
And do it before it’s too late.”
Like sickersnees through some butter
An encouraging utter
“I think we can keep up the pace”
And soon by some gubbins
By hard rowing and pumpin’s
They found themselves back in the race
I was asked to write a poem using all those weird words you see. You might have to look them up in a dictionary to get the true meaning of some of the lines.

I lost a precious associate,
my dog Bumfuzzle,
no one left to teach me unconditional love,
and there is no one to bark.
I've known you since you,
were just a patchy little puppy,
I watched you grow into,
a good-looking bow-wow friend.
I'll always think of you,
I'll keep your memory alive,
the painful memories,
that has left an ache in my heart.
But now it’s over,
you're gone forever,
all I have is your picture in a frame,
on my wall as remembrance.
