I see him hold back the tears.
His lips quiver and shake.
Too young, he hasn't the years.
A decision he didn't make.

Mama will protect you.
And when you're angry too.
I will hold you when you cry.
And love you if you lie.

Confusion settles in.

I just want him to smile, to grin.

Beguiling, they can be so misleading.
A teasing smile, why don't you stop awhile?
A smile, deceiving

The smile that says, "Love me"
A smile that can help thaw a frozen heart.
A photogenic smile sells pics you see.
Smiles that say we must part.

Smiles that say, "That is tough".

Dusk, prone for a head-on collision
For the trees brace themselves
Huddle as tribesmen to swat away
The human dirigibles taking laps
Around this pathetic attempt
To rape nature for commerce
With intimate kiosks acting as
Mini brothels looking to get laid (and paid, at 70% off)   
I hear the trees whimper slightly
Marginalized for the margins and cracks looming
