Collops of fat line the tables of the few,
while the many stretch hands toward empty plates.
Skyscrapers rise in the capital,
yet in the villages, children bend under jerrycans,
walking miles for a sip of muddy water.
The economy grows, they say—
percentages polished and paraded—
but the growth is stored in vaults,
not in classrooms with broken desks,
not in hospitals without medicine,
not in the pockets of the farmer who tills red soil for nothing.
Every election season,
collops of fat are dangled like bait—
T-shirts, soap, envelopes,
promises swollen with grease,
but never nourishment for tomorrow.
The youth, restless, crowd into boda stages,
degrees folded in pockets,
dreams reduced to dust by unemployment.
Markets overflow with speeches,
but not with buyers.
Streets fill with posters,
but not with jobs.
Uganda’s wealth pools in corners,
thick, congealed, unreachable.
The nation limps,
while a few grow heavier, rounder,
their laughter echoing across gated compounds.
Collops of fat—
the evidence of excess,
the proof of imbalance,
the weight carried not by those who eat,
but by those who starve.

You are mine;
My sweet banana wine;
With you alone, I will dine;
For you are too fine.
She calls herself your big fan,
Mama says you are her son,
To me, you are my first plan,
From which I learn.
For you, I will sit on a boda boda
Just to cross this boarder,
To a land broader,
Where you will be my holder;
Before any doing,
I take the reading;
To be sure about my feeling;
That you are more worth than a shilling
Daddy calls you his heir,
Coach says you are the best player;
To them, you are just fair;
A reason I don’t want just an affair;
We could sit under the pine;
And discuss about the lines;
If you do not mind,
I can always call you mine.

DIRE LOVE--Spanish verse
El poder está abrazando,
Y también sus brazos
Mi luz de luna es iluminadora;
Y también lo es su sonrisa;
Mi corazón late por nosotros en y en;
Mis pies caminan por las millas distantes;
La paz está saboreando;
Mi aliento vacilando;
Mi amor respira a través de mi alma;
Te amo con aliento a aliento;
Incluso más allá cuando mi espíritu deja mi pecho... esto antes del beso de la boda;
Debo insistir;
Mi ángel de arriba;
Eres mi amor terrible;

Night love is cool
When your lover's face is neon red,
From the disco lights.
Night love is cool
When in music loud,she strains her voice,
Just to talk to you(as if i can't wait).
Night love is air cool
When together you brave,
The cold on a boda-boda.
Night love is cool
When hand in hand
You stagger home together.
Night love is cool
In the sparkle of stars
And when the moon glows,
Your lover's face becomes angelic.
Night love is cool
When she kisses you,
With lips that taste of wine.
Night love is cool
When you make drunk love,
When she wishpers you
Drunk sweet nothings("I rrove you")
And makes you
Promises.
Promises that you both will laugh at,
When sore,when sober.
Night Love Is Neon Cool.

A Winston churchill’s declaration
to a tiny nation situated in the dark continent
due to its magnificence and sight capturing habitat
only matched by the electrifying effect of its hospitality.
A country where wealth has long made a short call
and yet to return to where it is needed.
Starvation on Boda-bodas, perambulating across its communities
as a longing for good life is never satisfied.
Yet happiness supersedes lack
on a nation which is tree loving;
a global competitor in Bananas, pineapples and Avocados
and a home to extinction-kissing Gorillas.
Satisfaction from pan fried grasshoppers
equates the appetizing feel of Italian pizzas and Turkish Donas.
Gender division of labour quite one-sided
where men are roof installers and women, the actual builders.
No wonder, female engineers and contractors
have long attracted the norm in a society
which is in love with Bicycles
and buttoned by a twin dry seasons.
Bwindi and Mhahinga are major game reserves
but its stand out feature so unique
is the simple fact it’s the youngest country in the globe
with one in every two, fourteen or below.
