Best You Make The Sun Shine Poems

Oh Spring Day

I was wrong about spring,
for all those months I painted the blame on winter’s dark face.
Wave after wave of cold cloudy, darkening days,
saturated my damaged point of view. By the way
I am sure I will die on a winter day, blaming the solstice,
waiting for the capricious spring to finally arrive.

But my heart will be frozen, and perhaps not even alive.
God how I love the way you make the sun shine.

I was wrong about my fate,
I filled the frame in haste, too busy to wait. I didn’t listen.
I ate my own eyes, and blamed the skies,
I chased the horizon and wrapped it in lies.

Oh spring day, it is never too late,
to fill me with mercy and grace as I wait.

Pictures of You

Pictures of our past, swirl gently within
my conscious mind, some make me grin,
adventures we had, when young and joyous
our loves, our gains, things that did annoy us,

memories connect to our favourite songs
heartache when people have done us wrongs
pleasurable times, wonderful views and sights,
sunrise, sunsets, seem to make things right,

you make the sun shine bright on a dull day,
you are the light that-shows me the way,
You make me feel better when feeling ill,
You are the one I want my heart to fill,

One single red rose bud you gave to me
On that so special day by the willow tree,
sweet aroma of fresh cut meadow grass,
feelings of love we hope would never pass,

country walks getting caught in a storm
no fears you were there to keep me warm,
floating dreamily like a damsel butterfly
in warm summer air, tears of joy in my eye,

you make the sun shine bright on a dull day
you are the light that-shows me the way
you make me feel better when feeling ill,
You are the one I want my heart to fill.

I see you every sunset and every sunrise
You'd turn up unannounced, a lovely surprise,
though now my heart is longing for thee
your so far away, I rely on pictures you see,

pictures of you in colour or black and white
perusing your image every day and night,
a vast ocean parts us now perhaps forever
but no ocean or sea can our memories sever,

you make the sun shine bright on a dull day,
you are the light that-shows me the way,
You make me feel better when feeling ill,
You are the one I want my heart to fill,

Life

I feel like im going to puke i cant stand this feeling
You always find a way to ruin my day and leave me shaking
Im pissed that you always break me down into pieces
I keep waiting until your torture ceases
Yet you just keep going,picking on me like a bully
Until the day comes when i can finally defend myself fully
You make the sun shine and die at the same time
You trick me into thinking everything is fine
You have full control of what im feeling everyday
When things finally look like there going to be fine you leave me in dismay
I'm still crying here are you happy?
Do you care? everyday more and more i feel crappy
Is there ever going to be a day that you apologize?
lay off my back until i can metabolize

Day 2

I’d almost forgotten

how you make the sun shine brighter

as you did yesterday

taking me back into your life

Where once I’d stomped my clumsy way

blundering on to blunder yet again

yes, while loving you,

but far less deserving than

I thought myself to be.

 Despite your knowledge of my truths

you made a sounder, happier, more contented man

 than existed yesterday

before you forgave me.

Matim

You taught me how to Love,
You taught me how to Live;
You taught me how to understand,
You taught me to forgive;

You taught me every single thing,
That a girl should know;
You taught me to have confidence,
And then You let me grow;

You never tried to hold me back,
But you were always at my side;
You taught me to believe in myself,
And you taught me to have pride;

You have always been a constant,
In this crazy life of mine;
And even in Stormy weather,
You make the sun shine!
