as he lay supine life spilling onto his Last Sunset Road.

The sun had set long long ago.
She lent down, whispered in his ear
Cherry Ripe Red Lips 
her warm breath 
close and near, like a

beneath a broken window
Frozen footprints from ice cold feet 
as if they didn't know 
paint the window sill 
and chill a crying crow
with a look to kill 
it cries out and dies 'I told you so'
