Premium Member Pink Skies

POPPIES & MUSHROOMS

I desire a beautiful sky.
One to inhale with my big brown eyes.
Fly like a kite,
under the midday light.
Join me in this lollipop fight.
Till we say Goodnight.

Let's sit on the floor Indian style.
Passing around the same smile.
Holding each other by the wing.
As we take a puff and sing,
a song about: Poppies and Mushrooms,
Lets hold hands and enjoy the fumes.

I rub my bare body with poison ivy.
A poisonous Vera, deep aloe skin deep
I enjoy the penetration under my earthly skin.
With the goodness of a sneeze that feels like a sin.
With Poppies and Mushrooms,
my hair I groom.
An inviolate flight on acid.
Skinny dipping in the calmness placid.

I want to touch that elephant in the sky.
Before the illusion vanishes before my eyes.
Pink clouds and fluffy marshmallows.
Purple kittens and rainbow shadows.

Liquid bamboo, and poppies too.
Cocoa mushrooms, to get rid of the flu.
Poppies and Mushrooms, in a jungle beat.
Down my legs, like a dog in rut.
Poppies and mushrooms, and a giant balloon.
Pop one for me, and act like a baboon.
Walk with me across this gingerbread bridge.
Let's use up all the cake in the fridge.

Graffiti and skittles,
While I sing "Hey Diddle Diddle."
Lets follow the unicorn, with green feet.
Poppies and Mushrooms ever so sweet.
Here Kitty Kitty, feel my heart pulse.
Hear me meow and tweet tweet tweet.
Kool-Aid and Hawaiian punch for lunch.
How about some orange Captain Crunch.

Poppies and Mushrooms, from the sky I fell.
Footsteps down the yellow belly tripping trail.
Skip to my Lou, it's time to swallow another pink pill.
And sing me this song, where all these illusions are real.

So you want to get to know me,
you want me in your life.
Your friends have said that I'd be good for you,

But can you trust their judgement?
do you think they know me well?
Do they know that I will make demands of you?

You see I'm quite demanding,
I'll use up all your time.
I'll make you spend it with me day and night.

And when you want to leave,
I'll be tugging at your sleeve,
And you know that I will make you stay the night.

Do you know that I'm expensive?
Do you think you can afford me?
I'm not as cheap as ladies in your past.

But I always will be there,
when you have the time to spare
and your love for me will last, and last, and last.

So come and spend an evening,
See how much you love me.
In the morning I can promise you'll be back.

I never will divorce you,
I'll never let you go,
I know you'll never ever be the same.

You'll never want to leave me.
You just have to believe me.
You see this ladies name is ....................

Time On Them If Removed Time On You You Improved

You can pick and choose your friends,
who is true who is pretend
Who needs you then they leave you
If it suits them
then refuse them
Are they there
do they care
do they have nerve
do they dare
is it all one way and nothing back
Are they owed a favour broken track
Looping around and using you
never occurring they should too
It’s not time that makes them close
It’s what they do when you lose hope
Do they celebrate your victories
And sit with you through your miseries
When you use up your energy
If they don’t they’re an enemy
Are they quick to point out what they’re owed
they want it paid back what they’ve showed
Think they’re smarter than you are
Push their luck and go too far
Friends aren’t always what they seem
they’re not always what you need
Sometimes you should up and leave
Even if they feel aggrieved
Their probably a victim
If so they are restricting
Time on them but if removed
Time on you sees you improved

Making Today Your Moment In Time

Making Today Your Moment in Time

Don't make the mistake of letting yesterday
use up too much of today.

                          Leave tomorrow until tomorrow.

Whether you're eighteen or eighty, I encourage you to have the courage to find
the magic in this day. Go out of your way to appreciate the deserving things here
before you; people who matter, places that will inevitably change, and
circumstances that get rearranged all too easily.
Remember that there's more to appreciate in this moment than we realize.
believe me: years from now, the truth of this will shine. And one of your sincere
regrets will be not knowing how good you had it..... at the time

Premium Member Beyond the Rainbow's End

At the end of our rainbow, we're so often told,
is an awesome reserve of a pot filled with gold.
At the end of my rainbow, no treasure for me
in the form of gold coins to use up selfishly.

At the end of my rainbow, inside my own pot,
they'll be wishes come true deep within to allot.
Like a resolute peace, in each country on Earth;
no more conflicts or war...oh, just think of the mirth!

To see total mankind as a genus of one,
for inside we're the same, from one God we do come.
Find the cure for diseases...their mysteries solved;
so the curse of these monsters is truly dissolved.

Find a way to stop hunger, both here and abroad;
with new food waste reduction plans, we can applaud.
Revise government rules to be fair, not corrupt;
make new laws so that violence does not erupt.

To respect our dear Earth, follow her wisdom too;
with her laws keep in sync in whatever we do.
At the end of my rainbow, instead of bright gold,
they'll be wishes come true for mankind to behold.

Premium Member Hurricane

Hurricane

By Edmund Siejka

There were warnings of a hurricane
People had been through this before
They knew what to do
Why some of the houses on the water were worth over a million dollars
They would ride it out.

The hurricane came ashore and slowly marched inland
South of Merrick Road
Cold grimy
Water was everywhere
Sewage and fuel coated lawns
Soldiers patrolled areas hardest hit
Boats were strewed in streets and yards
Neighborhoods sat empty for weeks
And politicians worried about their future.

Spray painted signs warned
“You loot
We shoot”
Heat and electricity were luxuries
Cash was a valuable commodity
Most people were patient
Some were not
But no one seemed to care.

Families returned to their neighborhoods
Tired, cold, and hungry
Water logged furniture lined the streets
Making two lane roads impossible
The only ones to show up
Were utility workers from out of State.

We don’t respect nature
We build where we shouldn’t
We pollute when we should know better
We use up resources like there’s no tomorrow
And then we’re surprised when nature hits back and reminds us that she is after all
…….Mother Nature.

Boogers Doctor Seuss Style

Be it winter or summer more likely than not
my big nose can produce giant globs of green snot.

I use up the tissues a box at a time,
picking and blowing and wiping the slime

that dries in my nostrils like small crusty scabs
and I pull thwem out furry from the hairs that they grab.

But some are still gooey that Ill roll in a ball
and I flick'em real quick so they stick to the wall,

then I wonder how long beforer anyone sees
all the boogers I flicked on their wallpapred trees.

It may be disgusting but then that's what I do
I blow out big boogers and I flick one or two

where they stick on the windows or maybe the door,
while the nastiest ones I just blow on the floor.

And some of you know about this, yes you do,
because some of you have flicked a booger or two.

I'll never point fingers at any of those
who've had their own fingers way up in their nose.

Now I've told a story and some of its true
I've talked about mucus and boogers and you,

and stretching and rolling these green little balls
and picking and flicking and sticking to walls,

and I guess that I'll stop there, so I'll take a pass,
I won't talk about boogers, but let's talk about gas!

The Modern Generation

The modern generation
Is coming all the way
To colonize the old one to get it’s accommodation
It’s encouraging many people
To welcome it’s arrival
But once it’s welcomed
There is no survival

It’s taking away many people especially teenagers
With very simple measures
It’s attracting the south pole and the north pole
By giving them someone to go for
And that’s why people are dying in fours;
A girl, a boy, and a pair of two models
The models of the two
The models who showed the two what to do in their clue
At different times they were born
But at the same time they are gone

Take a look at the boys of today on the way
They pull the short down as if the shorts overweigh
They wear huge hats which are so wide
And turn them around to balance the head on the other side
Isn’t it too heavy to crash the brain
Isn’t it too heavy to use up the digested grain

Ah! Your parent s must have been tired of feeding you advise
They must have been tired of being kind and nice
They are just waiting for the time when the white clouds will become grey
And rain will fell from their eyes on this day
They will just worry and burry you in a day
And forget about you because you made them loose their hope
They are tired of having commas
This time they have a full stop

The Generation Gap

The Generation Gap

Dad: Have some food now-I love this scone-
I’ve been meaning to ask you-how’s your phone?
Mine’s great for dealing with business work
And all those stuff that you just can’t shirk.

Son: Wait a sec-I’ll just take a shot
Of my scone and soup, all piping hot
And upload it by phone to Facebook now.
What were you saying? I liked what? How?

Dad: I was asking you how you liked my gift
And if it was enough when I worked an extra shift.
Plus, your food is for eating, son, you see,
Not targets for you in a photo-taking spree.

Son: All my online friends do this, dear dad.
It’s just one of us teenagers’ fads.
You don’t have time for me as it is;
At the very least, let me do this.

Dad: What is it you’re buying online, my son,
That may cost two thousand? My, what a sum!
Is what I’m seeing right? Are those just clothes?
What you’ll buy with my money next, God knows!

Son: You won’t understand, dad, that clothes are the fashion
And delving for the hottest ones is every teen’s passion.
How am I otherwise gonna use up my cash?
It’s either getting the latest stuff, or looking like trash.

Dad: Every dollar is a dollar worth-
In my days, to own one was of greatest mirth.
You should learn to save instead of spend-
I don’t care if it’s the latest trend.
Son: I told you you wouldn’t understand;
I have to do this to stay with my friends.
And please would you turn the Bee Gees down?
They aren’t exactly hottest in town.

Dad: The times have changed since I was young
And strange thoughts and actions have sprung
The children have overpoweringly shocking ways-
I have nothing more to say.

Son: The past was so dreadfully boring
That to think of it gets me to snoring.
The world must have been of black, white and gray-
I have nothing more to say.

That's the Way the Cookie Crumbles

Jungles like company,

 both parents want custody,

 the elderly needs an accompany,

 I am reluctantly,

 withering away in the upcountry.

 Snow burns my throat,

I use up a lot of time on my remote,

I know I have someone to devote.

 All this conflict ,

 will predict,

a passage way through the jungle,

a nice person for you to stumble,

 across.

 Remember people practice daily loss

 of emotion or ambition;

 a burned out ignition;

 or a life-depending mission.

Earths Destruction By Man

Is Mans Destruction by Earth

In the not to distant future
when the Clouds are gone forever
And an Omen is reality at best

Technology, and greed for more
Resources not replenished
beginning of the end of Human quest

When the skies no longer cater
to the feathered ones of Nature
and the food chain slowly dwindles, day by day

When the Corn and Wheat cease growing
and the Rice dies from the Waters
man will surely know that Hunger's on its way

When you take away the Flowers
and you use up all the Forests
and the Waters are no longer safe at all

Then the rest will slowly Perish
leaving man alone to wonder
if the Air he breathes, will last until the fall

When the Privileged are the only ones
on Artificial Air
the rest of us?

We'll be just History past
another Mars or Moon perhaps? A Desolate Domain
Supply runs out, and that will be their last.....

Premium Member Inner Child

In the unrestrained laughter of children,
is the exalted, purity of joy.
Just seeing that first Crocus of the Spring
or kittens, their antics, exuberant.
You can't help but smile, in wonderment,
at the abundance of simple pleasures.

To watch vibrant sunsets, brings great pleasure.
As does a phone call, from both my children.
I'll recall their eyes, filled with wonderment,
and their squeals, as fresh snow fall, brought pure joy.
Their young minds, bounding with exuberance,
playing outside, in the warm days of Spring.

I love new baby animals at spring.
Their mothers, showing them off, with pleasure.
Playing, jumping, with such exuberance.
I am happy to have all the children,
with which to share these adventures and joy.
To see their eyes, grow big in wonderment.

I remember my own childhood wonders.
Seeing big rainbows in the skies of Spring.
Hearing birds, in the morning, sing with joy.
Watching mom, tend her roses, with pleasure.
My Grandmother, would send out us children,
to go play and use up our exuberance.

Now it's Grandchildren, with exuberance,
that find, in their lives, so much to wonder.
See the world through the eyes of a child,
the seasons; Winter, Fall, Summer and Spring.
I can't think of anything more pleasant,
than to watch them, their lives, filled with such joy.

Life in the desert, has brought me much joy.
Thunderstorms, beat my heart, exuberant.
My heart and soul, revived, with the pleasures.
Rugged beauty, fills my mind with wonder.
As life giving rains, that herald the Spring,
welcomes all of natures newborn children.

I find joy and exuberance abound,
in the pleasures and wonders within life.
That spring forth, from the child, within me.

We would like to
eat steaks in Alaska
or fry battered mushrooms,
but the there is money
to be made
in the Southland.
The irises bloom here thickly,

while tinkering hands
use up the day.

Premium Member Where Has All the Water Gone

Where has all the water gone?
What is not poisoned is now in poor supply…
They call it “fracking,” a way of trapping
gas or oil for fuel to meet demands of energy.

Our water on this earth is the gift of life,
creating and sustaining it for all living forms
     upon this wondrous self-sustaining world.

But technology…that is the world that
no other species knows about…
except for man…our demand
for fuel...the oil or gas, extracted in
this process of this fracking…cracking…
the earth below releases chemicals
into our precious flow of water there.

And in the process, we use up this
precious fluid in capturing our prize…even
in areas already stretched thin by drought.

The gift of knowledge…sometimes
we wonder if, in the balance of knowledge
and nature, it is perhaps not a gift at all…
for, in the end, the needs that our gifted
wisdom demands will upset the balance
that the endless force of nature commands.

Where has all the water gone?
What is not poisoned is now in poor supply.
     The gift of knowledge?

The doom of greed.
Where has all the water gone?

It's impossible to sneeze with your eyes open
Don't try it, you might blow a gasket
There's a bunch of other stuff you should know
Before they put you in a casket

Greece's anthem has over a hundred verses
The seventh inning must take forever
The eye of an ostrich is bigger than its brain
They've got nice personalities however

A goldfish memory is only three seconds
Damn it, can't remember the next line
There's over than 300 dimples on a golf ball
I'm going to start counting mine

If they didn't add colouring to Coca-Cola
It'd be a ghastly shade of green
Cockroaches live nine days without their head
But they don't have a mouth to scream

A starfish apparently doesn't have brains
Called one of my buddies a “Starfish”
He really thinks I'm paying him a compliment
Some days he can be quite thickish

If you bang your head against a brick wall
You use up 150 calories an hour
Milk that's been sitting in the sun for days
Is most likely the sourest of sour
