why is it easier to look at you
through one eye as opposed to two
when we should be totally
enamored with the thought
we have come this far
we of kin, but enemies of spirit
cannot go on this way

a desert of parched emotions
cherry wood furniture atop marble floors
transformed our home into
an oasis of tears and coffee

this trivial mirage under scathing sun light
left us grappling for sustenance
be it water or be it love

empathy should be our cry
but with grey hair for a crown
these life stories on our face
we joust over flashbacks
and weakened rungs

Premium Member Charlie Tuna

A few big Baracudas one day
had assaulted some fish “schools” at play.
Many fish bravely fought.
The most famous did not.
Charlie Tuna sped quickly away.

Charlie Tuna had been cowardly,
so the other fish asked him why he
swam away from the brawl.
“Don’t you know – after all -
I’m the chicken,” said he, “of the sea!”

Tuna -Haiku-

Tuna swim quite fast
it's a large feeding frenzy
after mackerel.

I'm shocked at the speed of these tuna. It's crazy.

Troubled Tuna

i happen to be the owner of some troubled tuna
always drinking and doing drugs
sometimes they get desperate and try to smoke bugs
there the troubled tuna they can't break the habit
i'm more proud of my pet rabbit
he wins medals and cash
but my trouble tuna
always selling there bodies
so they can buy a stash
i don't know what to do
they seem to far gone
that's why i did what a good owner does
and threw them back in the pond
i haven't seen the tuna ever since that day
so i'm glad that those troubled tuna finally went away.

Tuna On the Cob

Scented ember a moulted smoulder
Skied as crackling softness
Spied and felt thru a film of dexterity
Uncalibrated, solvent, translucid
Trance and dance

Street fleet, guttering inhabited by creased indoctrination
Yet to be ironed
Yet to be pressed and left on the stoop
Cornered like bluefin, fed, foddered and canned
'Til the ink runs dry

Dust, seen but not sawn
Settles on my pine needles
Green hue askew now turns to blue
Appointed to the disjointed and as hard edges glint
Drones trudge thru sludge to fund the mints

(I know these words are bare, and that this poetry is bleak but it's channelled from a source which I seek.
A clear blue nectarous swivelling blissmist.)

Premium Member A Tuna Fish Can

Mike and his father went grocery shopping.
Mike, age 4, chooses a tuna meal fish can.
Since his hands were full as he was swapping.
Mike opts to put the tuna in his pocket as a man.

A while later, once Dad has paid for the goods.
While they depart the store, an alarm alludes.
Mike looks surprised and reaches for his wallet.
"The tuna fish!" "I forgot about this!" in my pocket.

The dad intends to pay for and buy the tuna fish.
But Mike, who is sincere, insists on fulfilling his wish.
Maturely, Mike declares, "I had it with me."
I'm sorry, Dad, but this is my responsibility.

Daddy bows down and gazes at his son in awe.
Startled at how fast his son is learning the law.
Mike grins at Dad and gives him a hug and kiss.
Don't you and Mom show me and my brother this?

Dad gives his son $3 for tuna fish promptly.
Mike hits the shop as a guard calls the cops calmly.
At check-out, I missed giving my dad the tuna fish.
I forgot it in my pocket while carrying a lot of my wishes.

The alarm then reminded me as we were leaving.
My apologies for taking it; I hope I'm not deceiving.
In no way did I intend for it to happen.
I'm back to pay for it; my trust isn't as misshapen.

The safety officer and cashier accept his excuse.
He was able to pay as there was no disabuse.
They tell him that real intent results in sincere action.
Boy, you stood up and appreciated the reaction.

Premium Member Tuna Fish People

the clever ones are tightening nets
'round the neck of the masses
who
swim in the mist of
overconfidence
under a flimsy umbrella called faith

but the blood net is closing fast
soon the masses will panic
thrashing into one another
like mad stars swirling in
then devoured
by massive black holes
called deception

they'll be winched onto the deck
hooked -then stripped of amendments
steaked -put on display
buried in mass graves

extinction being the final stage

their obit will read;
lived freely until death stripped them of their
APATHY.

Bluefin Tuna

Bluefin Tuna are listed as, endangered
because of illegal fishing, of global fish stocks
as eighty five percent, is unreported and unregulated
Overfishing of our oceans, has to be quickly eliminated

Bluefin are the largest tuna, and can live up to 40 years
and they migrate across oceans, and can dive 40 thousand feet
They are made for speed, and built like torpedoes
and have retractable fins, but they still end up in food tins

They are tremendous predators, that seek schools of fish
like herring, mackerel and even slippery eels
They have the sharpest vision, of any bony fish
but that doesn’t help, as they end up on a human dish

Premium Member King of Lions, Heaven Bound

His fur smelled of dust;
And cobwebs that covered his face
He found me to show me his new look
That he had gone and made.

I started laughing,
He wasn't happy.

He charged me like a raging lion;
He was being comical, he's robust
I was laughing so hard, I was crying
It made my stomach hurt, I'd bust.

He was this tiny kitten then;
Still is a tiny kitty in my heart
My love for my cat will never fade
Mischief's my world, he's my parade.

I bid wishes to you in my serenade;
Of tuna, chicken, or a salmon tray
Eat as if you were, King of Lions
You are King of Lions, Heaven Bound.

Putting cat food in my bowl,
This same thing is getting old.

Opened a can of tuna, yummy yum yum
My niece in Vancouver knew we were having some
Her cats, they declared
Needed scratch for the airfare
To partake of the festivities or be stricken dumb

Premium Member Tuna Fish, Beer and Seed

As a child, men of science warned me
about the coming of a second ice age.
They flashed pictures of stomping mastodon
hungry saber tooth cats
and giant sloths with enormous claws.
I listened closely and was frightened
but I was all in and took quick action.
I learned how to build an igloo
by stuffing snow into hollow plastic blocks.
I sharpened the end of dozens of sticks
to battle the giant cats and mastodon.

Now, Bill Nye, Mr. Gore and Hanoi Jane
are warning me of imminent global warming
and biblical flooding rarely seen.
I'm taking them seriously.
So, I'm stockpiling tuna fish, beer and seed.
and building a tiny arc just for three
as I'll never have two of everything.
There's only the cat, an olive-eyed dove and me.
