There is something
Visceral
About a gun

Urban Fright
In the dead of night
Sends panic through the
Wayward driver
Working too late
On the edgy side of town
where black of night
ignites drug life &
drive by shootings
safety vanishes with
cutbacks
 forcing cops to
 battle paperwork instead of crime

because they're afraid of earth's truths
they don't want to soil their hands.
They think everything must be pristine
perfectly stated-nothing jaded
an existence of roses and champagne
instantaneous perfumed gratification
