Blood On the Pad

for the peace I hope to gain in the future there's a lot of Pain i need to remove from my past
I used to be ashamed of my scars, but I'm now proud of my dents and bruises from when I crashed
All I ever wanted as a kid was a hug from my dad
I never received that, so I promised to myself I would always leave blood on the pad

We all have different ways of dealing with pain
Have you ever been so numb, that you can walk through a storm and not end up feeling the rain?
Ever had a girl want to see you grow when you're unwilling to change?
Ever thought you were over something just to end up feeling it again?

It's easy to carry on while carrying a carry-on, but eventually it turns to baggage and becomes heavy
Which makes it easier to fall especially when you were already unsteady
People love to see you fall as this world lacks empathy
Thankful that I'm getting to be strong minded as I'm packed mentally

But I won't lie, my mind has been elsewhere recently
I've been nursing others and forgetting about self care recently
I've been living reckless and haven't felt scared recently
Questioning why I've been helping others who haven't been providing help here equally

People who kicked me while I was down expected me to help them up
People who would laugh as I would self destruct
She fell in love with this poet just to say actions speak louder than words
and got mad that I rarely open up in person, but will put it all in a verse

I'm slowly realising that you can't please everyone so I'm done trying
I'm not asking for your shoulder, so you don't need to know why I'm crying
I'm starting to take the good from the bad
my pen is a sword so I just left blood on this pad

Plastic Society

Tattle cries are just as loud as battle cries,
but the difference is
tears from mannequins dry on untouchable skin.
You may have a purpose, but your attempt at a movement
is motionless because your passion
is a carefully constructed image
replicated in a false ideology
that manifests into something specific
obtaining a manual manipulation.
A self servant visibility is indicative
of an egocentric personality and everything insinuated
to be perceptually believed as sacred
usually doesn't leave further than the tapping of your fingers.
You proselytize by regurgitating the ways
of a preferred deity and establish yourself
by turning your mirror to reflect the angle
of how you want to be seen and adjust your thoughts
for a higher seat in your vanity
in order to possess everything in your hypocrisy.
The feedback you get initiates a sedimentary mask
you proudly wear and give a name to because
as a statuesque representative in an upscale consumption
of physical and mindful gluttony,
it is the exemplary rock to inscribe your identity.
You disguise it as spirituality, enlightenment, or awareness
labeling it as politics, religion, parenting, racism,
abortion, extortion, activism, or sexism.
It does not, in anyway, alleviate
the struggling strong minded from with holding their weeps
on garments bled by friends in unsung tongues and private sin,
in time well spent where the secrets
of the heart are kept for keeps rather than exposed and disposed of
in a widespread generic documentary
for the world to see the effects of their warfare.
Where words of vulnerability and exposed nerves
are perceived as nothing but memes and black sheep
trying to be shepherds making lists of things
to better humanity in articles utilized by a machine.
As if the top ten life hacks will take neglcted children
out of the slums of a poor shack
and stop the hateful attacks on those who need welfare.
The bandaging by labeling and over medicating
will not eradicate the urgent need for eye to eye,
flesh to flesh, heart to heart
laughing, kind, grateful, melting of this
plastic society.

Premium Member Chocoholic

I thought that I would buy myself a chocolate Easter Egg
And keep it till the light of Easter morn.
I kept it in the 'fridge but temptation drew me in
To taste it long before the Easter dawn.

Strong-minded and severe, I resisted everyday
Remembering the dark luscious flavour
Protected by a covering of shiny golden foil,
My mouth kept watering as I could savour

Such a treat waiting patiently for me till Easter Day,
A sign of new life but I lost the plot!
On Saturday, after a dreadful week, I grabbed the egg,
Tore off the golden foil and scoffed the lot.

Self

being me not self centered
Caring and kind hoping to find
The best there is in human kind
Trying not to be judgmental
At the same time be conversational
Trying to see both sides as a one
Often conceded as soft hearted
Taken to the heart
Often known for a few tear jerker’s
Funny humors to the core
Less often a bore
Love to have around
To brake a frown
Always willing to lend a hand
Love giving not receiving
Patience in life’s everyday situations
Great listener ready to give good feed back
A survivor and a fighter
A forgiver not a forgetter
Strong minded protective when it comes
To the ones I love
To sum it all up I am just me myself and I
I love being my self

The Forgotten Ones

Forgotten somewhere in the midst of steel and concrete.
Bound by shackles and chains even in our sleep.
Living like wolves preying amongst lost sheep.
Concrete tears and pains so mindfully deep.

Forgotten by those on the outside.
We cant even run no where, we cant even hide.
No choice left but to sit and fight.
In here only the strong minded survive.
Truth be told in here what is wrong is right.

All most os us got is wasted M&^*&F*^&&ng time.
We sit back and work out and write heartfelt rhymes.
Not to be a victim of prey we all trying.
Many stories are told, songs are written of truth over lying.

We are gone for the moment but not truly forgotten so the hurt we must not show it.
We are to old while we young to be crying in front of full grown men for this is a time we must out grow it.
There aint no way out this hell hole and we all know it.
Feelings of hopelessness surrounds te heart to the point where we can no longer control it.

In here there is only time no fun.
Darkness fills night no light shone in here from the sun.
Only by our own selves we may be out done.
BECAUSE IN HERE IT FEELS LIKE WE ARE TRULY THE FORGOTTEN ONES....

I love action,with few words
by example,my guidance heard
a barnabas,I unfold
encouragement,to be bold;
strong-minded,solid,some say,
maybe somewhat dull and grey!
reliability ,my creed
satisfy first,my family need;
Each day,stepping outside the box
what you see,you see,is only little me

Progression Pt3: a Brief Summary of Black History

Rosa Parks, sit proud,
Head high with no retreat,
Do not be forced to the back
This seat is more than just a seat,
Let them drag you to the jail
Mistreatment all the world can see,
Spirits stir, blood boils,
N.A.A.C.P.

Dr. King, Dr. King!
Tell the world about your dream,
Preach of togetherness
as the ignorant still scream,
Non violence is the movement
Serenity could end the strife,
But a man moved by malice
Picked up a gun and took your life,

Who's next? Malcolm X?
Another brother had to die,
Racists whites or Muslim mobsters?
Who killed you and why?
Was it because of your courage
Because you had the will to try?
By any means necessary
You preached an eye for an eye,

So many soldiers in the struggle
Who will not be coming back,
Loud voices and strong minded,
Dead before the Civil Rights Act,
Equality for us all,
Is a summary of the paper,
To all who paved the way
I want to thank you for your labor,

I thank many, and many thanks,
We are truly in your debts,
I breathe and write freely,
Focused to give you no regrets,
From the shackles on your ankles
Through the hundreds of years of drama,
Good or bad his term may be,
“Today” our President is named O'Bama

Heartburn

It's not heartburn, I can actually feel flames in my heart burn
Keeping me awake at night as I toss and turn
I feel you in my soul and wonder if I should keep this candle lit
Because sometimes I sense that my thoughts
Are endlessly dragging me to a bottomless pit
A pit far away from the very person that awakened my spirit
I cry for the joy to come,
For in my mind's eye I have seen it
Everyday it's too much effort to smoothen the frown on my face
How can I, when I know I can be happier in another time and place
I know I ought to live, as much as I ought to give
Yet its been a give and take,
Because during adolescence, I somehow lost my will to believe
I was dead, as far from life as the North is to the South
But I've come back to life because your words constantly give me Mouth to Mouth
How do you manage to do the things you do?
Why do I allow myself to be caught in a snare planted by you?
If we stay friends, we could be together forever, and play
Because 'More Than Friends' always has a price to pay
Which only the strong minded can bear
What is LOVE but a catalyst for insanity
What is LIFE but preparation for eternity
But if Jesus had to die so we can be saved
Then maybe I'm willing to endure any pain,
Planted on this path that we've already paved

A Brand New Me

I remember when I used to be sad and depressed all the time
I found out not too long ago that it was no one's fault but mine
I contstantly let minor things get the best of me
Instead of being strong minded and being the best that I could be
I found a new person on the inside
I don't need anybody but God on my side
Boyfriends mostly just want one thing so they get it and go
So called best friends talk about you and don't even care if you know
But I'm not that girl anymore
So I'm no longer that sexual object you used me for
I'm that girl you used to walk by but didn't see
Because inside i have created a brand new me!

Premium Member Who I Am

"I have built my foundation with life's bricks;
I exist. I am me. And that has been enough. "

                                    Quote by_ Constance

My character traits define who I am,
both inherited morals and life lessons taught;
translating me is like an anagram !
Best, I be good because ... I only get one shot;
but, will not pretend that my life is Camelot.

Trustworthy, honest, respectful and kind,
always polite, friendly, grateful, open-minded;
lover of nature ... animals inclined !
I am proud, brave, courageous and worldly-minded;
though calm, tranquil and peaceful, I am strong-minded.

I am a dependable loyal friend,
always reliable, encouraging, sincere;
never, ever will I lie or pretend !
But, I will not claim to have no flaws ... lets be clear;
and am not afraid to share them with a sad tear.

I wear my grief like a heavy dark cloak,
and get hurt easily  ...  often melancholy;
cruel life will often leave me heart broke !
Though sad emotions my colors are not palely
and I am soon back on life's fast moving trolley

Hers Truly

Hers Truly

From a friend to a lover
from a lover back to friends…
His faults are hers
And hers are his…
So where does the love live
It’s rough when you discover
The true meaning of a couple…
The laughing, the crying
cold shoulder and some denying…
Hers truly, is his truer
No need in identifying
She knows what she wants
And so does he…
Shouldn’t be a debate
Hers truly knows what she’s doing
He knows what he’s doing
But being thrown a temper from hers truly
Makes it even more confusing…
No one can take full blame
When they’re both headed towards fame
In this game that some people can’t take
And finally go insane…
Strong-minded is she
With wisdom sprouting from seeds
With respect for his truly…
You make a good couple
Shouldn’t they be meant to proceed to succeed
Let’s take these qualifications
And reach our destination

TRUE GRIT
He like a drink
did granpa Shreeve
Sergeant stripes stayed on
his sleeve- Victorian born with
buckled belt ,boots,trousers braced;
strong silent,with twirled of moustache;
rigid of back, upright no ceremony allowed-
a legacy faded sepia grey in memory
	GRANPA
He loves action,with few words
by example,his guidance heard,
a barnabas,he unfolds
encouragment,to be bold;
Strong-minded,solid some say,
stability,day-by-day,
reliability,his creed
to satisfy,family need;
Each day stepping outside the box
what you see,is what you get,
once encountered,none forget,
a boy,beneath it all
aged now,but standing tall.

A MOTHER’S LOVE
She lives her love day by day
with all that is so feminine,
a touch, kiss or knowing look,
concern, red-lettered in her book;
Particular to detail self-sacrifice
a routine,as she walks the extra mile,
ever ready with a smile; The days
news eager to hear, her wise counsel,
stills a fear as open arms her love brings
near,a warmth to dry a child's tear
ready to give herself, time and again
so soft and beautiful and feminine

By the Unknown

The look into the eyes of the truth.

Who I am is who you see
  I am she...
The unknown
  The one you call
when you have a problem, question
or just need someone to talk to
Your one and only true Boo
  The unknown
I am she...
  you helped to become
the she who loves you
  Without any questions
I am she who is happy
  when you come around
even if just for a brief time
  because
I am she...
  who has become
Strong minded
  Independent
and self sufficient
But.. I am also the unknown
part of your life
  Still I stay
I am the she...
 who sees the enter beauty
you always seen
  ME

Ego

EGO
Everyone has an ego
It just matters how it flows
I have a big ego
I'll tell you about it and let you know
It's a little bit tricky
So just stick with me
I feel like I'm number One
Even though I am not
It is kind of fun
I give myself all of the shots
I think of myself as the king
Not the in between
I am in the number one spot
Parked my butt in that one spot
So many people with such an ego
I like some of you and hate to see you go
You have to be strong minded
To carry out your strength
You cannot be blinded
You have to give yourself rank
There's nothing wrong with being the best
Say what you say to get it off of your chest
Having an ego is what keeps you up
Stay up and push yourself up, up, up
I see myself as the only guy
To be at the top and only why
I feel so much smarter than the average guy
Even though I'm not, I'm just a tad shy
I'm just the same as you and everyone
My job here is never going to be done
I hope you get the message that I've sent
Never use your ego to get revenge
