Pele, Goddess of Fire

First fire surges from the inner Earth.
Island waters greet the fire goddess
Risen from Earth's fiery core, her birth,
Endows with lava, land from her first kiss.

Exploding from a volcanic shower
Earth spews fire as Pele emerges...
Her hair glows golden in the twilight hour,
Streaming slowly as her passion surges.

Gracefully she moves and quietly creeps
On her burning path toward silver sea.
Wanting all things that she covers, she keeps.
Pele's steamy kisses saved for the sea.

Sorrow's shadowed Pele for timeless years.
Sadness is seen in her ebony tears.

*Pele's hair is a form of lava. It is named after Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of volcanoes. It can be defined as volcanic glass fibers or thin strands of volcanic glass (Shimozuru, 1994). The strands are formed through the stretching of molten basaltic glass from lava, usually from lava fountains, lava cascades, and vigorous lava flows.

*Pele's tears
Pele’s tears is a geological term for small pieces of solidified lava drops formed when airborne particles of molten material fuse into tearlike drops of volcanic glass. Pele’s tears are jet black in color and are often found on one end of a strand of Pele's hair. Pele's tears is primarily a scientific term used by volcanologists.

A Sacred Place

This monstrous life cannot defeat my purpose.
I am here to do God’s work.
The message he sends in daily living unearths.
I am solidified not to dissolve down a disastrous path.
Seclusion is amongst the butterflies with tranquility of a grandeur faith.
I spread my wings on a nature walk to achieve a blissful saturation.
Fulfilled I am in determination.
No more do I need to define self-worth.
The privacy I have was earned.
You see I talked to the Lord when I was alone to gain inner peace.
In prayer, I isolated myself.
Just as The Word says, aloneness is necessary to accomplish solitude.
Therefore, I found my resting place amongst the trees.

This monstrous life cannot defeat my purpose.
I am here to do the Lord's work.
My wings are foreseen and my life is for a greater determination.

Escape Plan

Slaves could not devise an escape plan until their thinking arrived in a free state of mind. Couldn't begin to break free from bondage that surrounded their bodies because an intact spirit was key for the freedom they needed. So they, the masters, solidified sanctuaries and brought a savior to fix a brokenness they had induced. Gave one direction to single point of entry. Told them to repent for sins they were never privy to until illegitimate children began establishing the first welfare state. Then they said, "It's all on you." That makeshift cell formed dorms and prisons broken men came to live in. One thought he was free, while the other began forming an escape plan. Both came from the same sanctuary designed to keep them from attaining a free state of mind. One grew accustomed to it. The other ran out there screaming, "I knew it! I knew it!" If God were truly in man, we wouldn't had to devise such an elaborate escape plan. And if he is, why did he beat this attitude in me?

Love In Reverse

My love, were you as steadfast as I,
We'd drive the neverending chain
link
of a bond unbreakable and rev
towards
the fever of a solidified love affair.
Yet, I ride alone in despair and pass
scenes of you falling out of love with
me.
From our last I love you to our first
hello,
I see the twinkle in your eyes fade
for me.

And of all reasons to brake for
break,
you change gears with good intent...
And I find that to be the most
painful.
Knowing, that I alone was not
enough
to heal your fractured sense of self...
A failure I shall regret until I unlearn
my first memory...
For to have known you, is the one
ride
of my thoughts that contained pure
freedom.
Now, they fade in the wind shield as
I
do 100 to 0 in the lane of smitten
wonder.

And should I be able to forget the
best of you,
I pray by moonlight that reverse
becomes
forward, and I can catch your smile
in my
dreams without knowing your face
again.
Just an image of an unknown
purpose that
lives around the corner of time and
patience.
It is there, on this blind faith avenue,
that I
will carry you back home from the
life we
never had the chance to live...

Premium Member Cat-Nips Hope

On the bed, my ginger cat settles
onto a pile of clean laundry, dryer warm

Feline steady stare, resolute
           a strategy of possession
she relaxes the way prayer soothes

"Off!" I command. My cat an unwelcome bedded guest.
she whines, "Surely, he's bluffing!"
                       solidified
                       empowered
swollen in the pride of "I'm not moving!"
meows spewed like an anthem of resistance

I lift her from the pile,
my underwear dangles from cat claws
like cheap tinsel on a tree
she exits, her short lived reign
         sulks into howls of whining

         till dinner softens her rebuff
till wherever curiosity and comfort take her,
                                                                       anew

My hope of co-habitation:
to calm the little woes of daily chores
to reduce cat prestige from shedded hair
to shrink feline non-compliance to a
                                             manageable scale

Our social contract - a trade off
       to reaffirm my status
to maintain the charade of "boss"
       an unsteady footing
in the crushed aspiration of rule

Lacrosse Ball

Taken from an oak tree
Carved into a perfect circle
The first time ever thrown into the air
Caught, Cradled, Dropped
Scooped, Cradled, Passed, Caught, Dropped,
Scooped, Dropped
Scooped, Passed, Caught, Shot

An arrow pierces me
My fur stuffed into a spherical pelt of my skin
Stitched up and continuing flying through the air
Closer to my target
Past his stick, his head...

Tapped and harvested from the trees
My white goo solidified into a rounder shape
The final product
Soaring, coasting? gliding?
Just missing the orange metal pole
Flying into the woods
The voices fading away
Hitting the ground of the woods
Sitting, waiting to be scooped again

I am lost
Forever

Open Arms

Where was I in all this?
Is it that I am with your existence?
Like a refined form you
Live to be strong.
Is that I did not call?
Aspiration was not known.
Munificence is your life lived normally.

Lithe as a feather
Oracle
Ruminate
Effervescent
Noetic
Zealous
Omnipotent boy

Joyous was your creator.
Overwhelmed,
Higher grounds you are to conquer.
Noesis,
Spectacular are the stars
Over yonder in the East in the clouds.
Never ending is your belief in the Almighty God.

Cutie Pie, don’t you die.
Live your life now.
I want to see your life span.
Spread your wings to become a man.

Amazing is where you are.
Mountains you have climb.
Eager to grow
Realizing that you have won.
Rich is your soul.
Intelligence that is given by the Lord.
Crazy you may just perceive the world.
Keep your eyes on the sparrow.

Solidified by faith
Informs acumen.
Family is altogether
Obstinate to reason.
Remove that what is different to unite.

Willing to withstand to not be denied.
Homefront and your people is how you segment.
Is it not you that want splendor?
To be the leader of your ambition,
Eager to growth.

Just is the fulfilled soul.
Rejoice when you know that all things are possible.

Cutie Pie, don’t you die.
Live your life now.
I want to see your life span.
Spread your wings to become a man.

The Spiritual Side of Pizza'

"Pizza and soda there on the table;
Dig in and eat as much as you're able."
yet I beheld with a spiritual eye,
As I gazed upon that pizza pie'

If you got a moment I'd like to share,
The spiritual analogies I saw there'
When the box was first opened and ready to eat,
The first thing I saw was plenty of MEAT'

On top of this was plenty of cheese,
(That's solidified MILK, if you please'"),
then the tomato sauce-which was red,
reminded of the BLOOD Jesus shed'

As I looked even further, my eyes were led,
To the golden crust- a form of BREAD'
It is cooked in OIL, which makes it taste so well,
And was RESSURECTECTED from the oven (a.k.a. sheol or HELL.)

The circular shape was ETERNAL- no beginning or end.
And it had been cut (WOUNDED) time and again'
It's best when it's hot- and so should we be'
You might even find SALT if it has anchovies.
People come to eat and be refreshed.
Does Spiritual food do any less?

Pizza can be delivered to your front door;
Shouldn't we likewise "deliver" the Gospel? For sure'
Eat your pizza and enjoy your meal;
Don't neglect spiritual food which is even more real'

                                                                          Arthur Ball (H.S.L.P.)

Grandpa

I stare at your face as I remember it so vividly.

I remember every piece of hair
You crafted to lay so perfectly in place

The tip of your nose that became slightly rosier with each year
The way your eyes wrinkled when you smiled
Your hard belly against mine as you gave me a hug

When you said "I love you kid"
And the pricelessness of those words
Spoken more frequently towards the end.

I wish we had more time
So I could show you who I have become
You may be gone but your love lingers on

In the hearts of not only your family
But every person you touched
And welcomed as part of that family

You showed me that love is deeper than the surface
It is rooted over time
Solidified in the thick and maintained through the thin.

I close my eyes
Trying to picture the beautiful place
You have chosen you reside

Sometimes I whisper to you,
Hoping you can hear me
Just to say I love you

I know I will have to wait patiently
For the next chapter
When we all will reside together

Cosmic Dust Spirals

cosmic dust spirals,
supernatural storms born
the Goldilocks zone

Free verse ~

A quadrant of marble missiles born

Ever since,
A dream catcher catches dreams
Jupiter catches meteorites and asteroids

Super-sonic projectiles pass Jupiter's gravitational shield
Shoots like V-1 rockets, destination is Mars
Seeded life exists there, nevermore
Saturn survived

The Red planet bleeds from beneath its crust
Lava flows from its core...
graphite composite, carbon spheres, laced with crystal ice

Craters and gorges are created kilometers deep
Cave creatures hibernating,
awaken from nocturnal sleep

Catastrophic events unfold...
the moon impacted by brazen bombardiers
headed for the new frontier

The moon takes mega-hits
The Earth tilts on its polar axis
Crimson tides flood marshlands and lagoons
Place prehistoric creatures roam and graze

Cosmic dust particles of the moon
chokes earth's atmosphere
The sun's torch extinguished
Like an eclipse

Demons from the core escape shackles
They tear the invisible rift, mimics paper ripping
Chains can not bind Lucifer's legions, anymore
Bat-like winged creatures with horns
Gargoyles

Such astonishing-force!
10,000 volcanoes erupting simultaneously
There's no haven to hide
Only deep sea creatures survive

The brontosaurus, T-Rex, raptor...
vaporized in minutes
Solidified into petrified rock - place they once stood
Invincible creatures extinct

Scanning the horizon and extraterrestrial skies,
I ponder... what if another catastrophic disaster happens
The volcano erupts ever so, many -- many moons
A supernova, two stars colliding, has triggered this domino disaster

Concrete Man

Did they rip your heart?
Did they bleed it dry as stone?
Thud, thud, thud
It beats against the bone.
Even your tears were hallow,
Set against the ducts they never fell,
But your tongue lashed like a whip
You expressed yourself well.
Those years of grief you spewed in anger
Until we were sick of it too,
Concrete man
Solidified in heartache
What will move?
Move you?
The cracks are showing now,
What will be left of you but rubble?
A mountain I will never fathom,
Who did this to you?
Who
Leaked away the brightness
So not even the dreams shone through?
I had to get away,
Every thing you touched
Was hurt, and hell?
I ran before I was too set in your ways,
One monument to sorrow is surly enough.
I wanted to break the mold
No more tough
Love, tough,
But even from this distance you throw your stones,
Determined to leave your mark, you wanabe medusa
I will not look that way,
I would rather bleed to death
Than harden and grow cold.

Premium Member Solidified Dreams

dreams that were ethereal particles of longing
amass together, forming decisions
that solidify with the passage of time
into unchangeable reality
marking my time line
making immovable
the dance of new possibilities

I wonder
what might have been
had the particles of longing
remained
flitting fantasies
on the periphery of my consciousness
refusing tangibility's reality
keeping the time line unmarked
clear
for possibilities to appear

Choices change chances
for alternate lives in time and place
and life's course converges on decisions made
along the way
by passion's petulant play
and wisdom's disarray

and one is left to wonder
what if....
what if that decision
were left
unmade.

Zenith

Stand above sea level, rise as earth shifts.
Watch the land bow, amidst continental drifts.
All that you surround lie in shadows below.
Here hills on active ground, climb to heaven and snow.
These massive creations, are born from plates underneath.
Pushing together, they force the earth up until the mountain has peaked.
The highest of these is mount Everest almost 9 thousand feet to the sky.
Although Ecuador's Chimborazo peak is farthest from Earth's warm inside.
Some mountains are born of volcanoes an opening from within earth's core.
From these cuts in the crust of the earth gases, and ashes spew forth.
And with them come rivers of lava, molten rock, liquid light.
It covers great distances in strides at 2000 °F.
Solidified, it is igneous rock and this can form the base.
Even from the ocean floor and now an island is made.
At the summit the weather is different there.
The air is quite thin, so ascend with great care.
It is cold and water and life may be scarce.
But the view from above is a sight worth a stare.
24% of the Earth is shaped,
and taken by mountains, and that is ok,
For human beings like you and I,
rely on the water that flows from up high.
Oh, mountain, the landscape you decorate,
is a wonder for eyes to behold.
It is hard to believe, that one such as thee,
could fall to the clock and erode.
But for now, these mountains stand proud,
and will be here to keep our perspective.
That we all have our role, that this earth has a soul,
-and I think it is best we respect it.

Premium Member It's a Crying Shame

George Washington would never believe it and call it a crying shame. I have observed the prohibition of prayer in public schools. Free speech is not free but is for sale to the highest bidder. Moreover, there is an attitudinal atmosphere suggesting that any speech that is not my own should be abridged, censured, or abolished. Traditional norms and family values are dropping like flies under the spell of pesticides. The Bible is considered to be narrow-minded hate-speech. I have seen people terrorized, their civil rights decertified and denied. Moral values have been devalued, set aside, and liquidized; Constitutional rights are diluted, disputed, and no longer solidified. Whatever happened to the great 'thinkers'? I have noticed the terminal illness and demise of noble ideas. Education is being replaced with political persuasion and propaganda.

Abraham Lincoln would never accept it and call it a crying shame. Minority rights are being revised, realigned, reassigned, and redefined. I have witnessed human rights ignored, disregarded, and not prioritized. The cultural revolution is forging ahead in jet-propulsion speed like there is no tomorrow nor time of reckoning. Belief in evolution is man's best hope for a future without accountability. There are no absolutes nor need for resolution. Majority rights are brought into question, unguaranteed, and in retreat. Equal rights are desired but unclarified, undefined, and unobtained. I have beheld the orchestrated disappearance of common sense, and before long we shall be worry-free because 'Big Brother' will always come to our defense. Alien rights are well protected, highly promoted, and unwisely provided. There is a free admittance of subjectivity and the utter rejection of objectivity. I started to weep when I realized that sanity is being burned at the stake. I'm hoping and praying that we return to our senses before it's too late.
